5.0 out of 5 stars Play Food review
My daughter plays with these everyday. My only wish is that there were no holes in the pieces because she likes to play with them in the bath and water gets in them. Otherwise she loves them.

3.0 out of 5 stars Just okay - not as nice as the 50's diner food
I expected these to be of the same quality as the toy food that came with the Step2 50's Diner set, but it's not. The pie, pizza, chocolate, and cookies only have the top. The bottom is hollow. The picture of the watermelon shows the green rind and black seeds, but the rind and seeds on the watermelon slices I received are just red. Also, the plastic is hard. Not like the...

Not like the softer plastic of the food that came with the 50s Diner. One of the ice cream pieces was dented, and one of the tacos was scratched. The nice thing about this set is that all the pieces are food - there are no canned or boxed items that kids don't like to play with as much.

First of all, you can not beat the price I got this play food set at. It was on sale, and I actually got it for 10$.
It was delivered a few days before it was suppose to be and it was double packaged.

I havent taken the pieces out of the plastic just yet, as the play food set is part of a birthday gift for my almost 3 year old.
But I did look at the pieces as much as I could through the plastic and they looked like they were decent conditioned, and I dont mind the pieces that have the dented backing.
I looked for a few weeks to find the best pricing for play food, and found this was the best price for the amount you get.
My daughter will be 3 soon, and we will be using these pieces to learn foods, some shapes and colors.

I review this as a 5 star..

I didn't like this product at all. They are very cheap looking, and I even thought that I got products still under manufacturing process (because they really don't look as neat as "final" products). The bottom side of most of them are just openings (which I hate). I am thinking of either returning them or just use the ones look ok, such as banana. I really feel I wasted my money.

My daughter loves to play kitchen and usually slips away to her playroom to create a meal of her own while I cool the real meal in my own kitchen. She has had her set for a year now and they still look new. If plastic play food is what you want, this is the set you should buy. My daughter and I have been very pleased!

You want to get a LOT of fake food for really cheap - here you go. You want some quality pieces that won't get water inside them when you wash them off and no matter how hard you try you can't squish it back out.... might want to go elsewhere. When you compare to other pieces out there these are what you pay for, really cheap looking, cheaply made, cheap food pieces. To get a kitchen started, it's not a bad way to build up food fast and cheap. It's just another matter of quality or quanity, you kind of have to choose between the two here. The majority of kids will not probably care much about quality like older people do. They have fun with cardboard boxes. I could go either way on this one. I would get it again just to have a lot of food, but I'll slowly be replacing with quality pieces over the years if it remains an interest of my childs.

Good food set, had to replace quite a few older foods because they were too small & my 16 month old liked to put them in his mouth. Most of the pieces in this set are larger, but they are quite thin & hold dents when he forgets he is supposed to be pretending and actually bites the ice cream cone, the ice cream doesn't bounce back :( Most of the food is fine, but some is very thin.

Althought it is not the most well made food on the market, it definitely serves it's purpose and is a great value for the cost. My only complaint is that it is a random mix of food. We received the hamburger buns but no hamburger patties and bread slices but no lunch meat. Needless to say we are eating a lot of cheese sandwiches lol.

Santa brought this box of toy food for my 1 year old son. It came in a surprisingly small box but all the food was really in there. I threw away a few of the pieces that were too small for my son who puts everything in his mouth. Most of the food was fine. My 3 children love to play with this food set. Nothing was paper or cardboard which is important if you have a baby like mine who is really going to try to eat it. I recommend it to anyone.
