Lifts the curtain on Stephen Hawkings life, see his human side, that he's just like everyone else, but, Hawkings is nothing like anyone else. A brilliant mind, seething with a tsunami of knowledge, wisdom, and theory.

This is a very good book about one of the most brilliant mind of our time. It is a fascinating insight into Hawking's life. It is inspirational in that with all he has and is going through personally, he is still a major force in the field of Physics.

Very well written.

I enjoyed reading it because I admire Stephen Hawking and love cosmology. Larsen does a good job--as others have mentioned--of explaining some of Hawking's concepts at the same time of writing about his life. I had already heard the usual stories about him but what I did learn from her book was that he traveled much more than I realized and got around a lot more than I had ever thought he did. After reading about his lectures at universities around the world, including America, I felt much better knowing that he had been able to live a semi-normal life for the majority of his years.

This book is well written, and informative. I enjoyed it. Only down side is trying to understand the theories that Hawkings and others deal with. Black holes and the like. The explanations were decent, just to far out there for me to grasp. Do not let this stop you from reading this book though, as the idea is to understand the man and his life, more so than the theoretical physics.
