I love these three Stephen King books. I bought this as soon as I saw that it existed, in an effort to get more of my books in hardback editions.

That being said, I have to say that I'm very disappointed in this edition. I'm only about a hundred pages into 'Salem's Lot, and I've already noticed several glaring editorial errors (missing periods, blatant spelling errors). The most amazing thing I've found so far is that page 241 is printed AGAIN on page 242! At first I thought perhaps I was just not concentrating, but a quick comparison of the two pages reveals that they are indeed the same page, with a different page number at the bottom.

The books are easily 5 stars a piece. And the fact that you can get these combined in hardback at such a low price is great! But be aware that you're getting exactly what you pay for, which is a compilation of three great books with slipshod editing, which can be very distracting.

Three of the best novels Stephen King ever wrote:

1) Carrie - the first. Even if you've seen the movie a hundred times, this is one creepy little novel;

2) 'Salem's Lot - the scariest. King sets a mood that crawls right under your skin and stays there - heck, it moves around in there;

3) The Shining - the classic. A brilliant horror novel that is a classic along the lines of Lovecraft or even Poe --

These are three of King's BEST, if they had included "The Stand" here (still King's best novel ever), they could have called it the Definitive Stephen King. Definitely a must-have for all you Koontz and Saul fans that don't realize who was the first and the best!

Three of King's best in a convinent attractive package. Editorial errors mentioned in a previous review are not applicable in the copy I just recieved from Amazon. The publisher must have made the corrections in later editions. So don't let that deter you. The novels sell for up to 3 times as much individually, so you can't beat the deal or the fun this one book offers. Have at it.

3 of the best and scariest novels by the horror king himself Stephen King in one low-priced book. If you haven't read any of the novels buy this book, I promise you wont get bored or want to put the book down. The downside is that you'll probably wish Carrie/Salem's Lot/or The Shining were longer so you could keep reading :)

I've read all these novels and my copies are nearly ragged so I decided to purchase this set. What a clever idea to package King's three best novels in one volume. If it's time to replace your old beat up copies of Carrie, Salems Lot, and Shinning pick this volume up today.

This book was a good read. Stephen King is an awesome author. Even though I say that some of his books are not as people expect it to be. These three novels though were awesome. A very different plot makes this a compelling read. The book I bought from Amazon.com was in awesome condition as well. I would recommend this book to anybody who likes gore and blood, not too much of it but the right amount to keep on the edge of the seat. The narration was a little slow though at times but, by and large its a good book. I hope you guys enjoy it.

This was an excellent book in excellent shape. It was a present for my daughter and she was very happy with it.

What more can a King fan ask for? This is a brilliant 3 novel edition of King's first 3 published books. I'm sure you don't need my review on the books, since by now you know all of them very well. This Edition has no flaws, unlike mentioned in earlier reviews, so I'm going to guess they fixed that. If you really are looking to expand your Stephen King hardback collection; this is the book to do it with.

The three best horror novels from Stephen King's early career are finally available in one complete volume, and I for one am estatic. King is still the greatest author who ever lived, and these stand as some of the scariest books ever written. Salems' Lot is the best vampire novel of all time, and King's excellent sense of pacing works well with the genre. Carrie is beautifullay wicked, and the Shining... well, it's just good.
