Take care and use an open mind,
By A Customer
This review is from: Stephen Turoff - Psychic Surgeon: The Story of an Extraordinary Healer (Paperback)
I visited Turoff at his practice in Danbury on various occasions with my husband. Despite all our visits my husband died of his disease. I now know of four people who suffered from various cancers, who all attended Turoff and THEY ALL DIED! I did ask if I could meet with someone who had been successfully treated, but the Turoffs assured me they did not keep the relevant records to permit this. At the time we visited, Mr Turoff was channelling the spirit of a dead mid 19th century individual named Dr. Joseph Kahn. I have never found any records to substantiate the existence of this individual. More recently, Mr Turoff is a disciple of Sai Baba, an Indian guru. The evolution of Turoff's spirituality is quite fascinating to observe. When I attended with my husband, I saw Turoff pinch a fold of abdominal skin and appear to make an incision. Then he appeared to put his fingers inside the abdomen - however, I could not swear that he did anything other than fold the skin and curl his fingers under, out of sight. There was no sign of an incision on my husband. The sad and awful part was that my husband believed himself to be cured. He refused to take his painkillers and suffered agonisingly until he began to take them again. As we had a number of visits, this belief of cure and refusal of painkillers continued for some time. The psychological and emotional damage that this inflicted on my husband as he struggled to come to terms with his disease progression was devastating. I find it curious that Turoff can claim his powers come from a Supreme Being, but yet Turoff finds it necessary to charge his patients a fee. Surely, such a wonderful Supreme Being would arrange for his best emissary to be rewarded without having to deal in hard cash. Furthermore, surely such a Supreme Being, as promoted by Turoff, would heal people who needed it, without the intervention of one individual? BTW, the charges made by Mr Turoff were £16 per person when we attended some years ago. He now finds it necessary to chage about £25 per patient. At 50 people a day, some 4 days a week this is indeed a substantial income for what is claimed to be someone elses work. How does Turoff channell the income to the Supreme Being I wonder?

An extraordinary spiritual account of alternative healing!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Stephen Turoff - Psychic Surgeon: The Story of an Extraordinary Healer (Paperback)
If you are looking for alternative healing which goes far beyond just treating your symptoms then you should check out this fascinating account of Stephen Turoff's life. The book is a little long-winded in the early chapters dealing with Stephen in his younger days, however, the book gets more and more interesting towards the final chapters, in particular how despite a mountain of obstacles Stephen manages to succeed in his mission to help the sick and injured ones, who have often been given up by the establishment but had a strong will to battle on for survival. The book also reveals in a fascinating way who is right behind this remarkable man - it is no one else than Sathya Sai Baba or God, whichever you prefer in your life. I have personally visited Stephen and his wife several times to check out the story. I can assure you that the book does not exaggerate in any way, however, experiencing Stephen's good work on your body is different to digesting it in writing from your couch. Stephen reminds us that the real reason why there is hardly anybody in perfect health and balance in our times is because almost all of us have a more or less serious deficiency in vitamin G - G as in G for God. Stephen sums up his work in a few touching words - trust in God's omnipresence, see good, do good! Last but not least I would like to add that I have read books on other psychic surgeons working in the Philippines and in Brazil, as well as I have visited some of these people on location, however, nothing compares to Stephen Turoff in my humble opinion. I sincerely hope that this written account on Stephen Turoff's remarkable life will broaden your horizon in a positive way beyond the daily treadmill in which most of us are involved in one way or other. Thank you for your attention.
