"Ain't no mountain high enough" & all your recommendations convinced me ! I was so happy when i heard, singing & dancing around ! Very nice musical sountrack by John Williams - but my fav song sealed the deal !

1.0 out of 5 stars John Williams fans: Beware
This is not the typical Williams score. It's very slow-moving and not fun to listen to. I hate to say it, but the best song on here is Ain't No Mountain High Enough. The other songs are dull and boring--no entertainment value whatsoever. If your looking for the genius of John Williams, don't buy this cd, because its not here. Get the Star Wars soundtracks if you...

5.0 out of 5 stars perfect, September 24, 2005

This review is from: Stepmom (1998 Film) (Audio CD)
John Williams is by far the most versatile contemporary composer of any medium; his film scores cover all genres of music styles and fill the movies with haunting melodies.

Stepmom is among his greatest triumphs as a composer, with music that is gentle and soothing, perfect to listen to in the bathtub, in the car on the way to work, or at home on a rainy night. There is a soul to this music, it conjures imagery and fills you with emotion; it is truly a masterpiece and a must have for any CD collector.

Lyrics for Song: If I Needed You

Lyrics for Album: Legend

If I needed you would you come to me,

Would you come to me, and ease my pain?

If you needed me

I would come to you

I'd swim the seas for to ease your pain

In the night forlorn the morning's born

And the morning shines with the lights of love

You will miss sunrise if you close your eyes

That would break my heart in two

The lady's with me now since I showed her how

To lay her lily hand in mine

Loop and Lil agree she's a sight to see

And a treasure for the poor to find

5.0 out of 5 stars Another brilliant score by Williams, April 23, 2007
This review is from: Stepmom (1998 Film) (Audio CD)
With the exception of 'Ain't No Mountain High Enough', this CD borders on flawless. Granted, the film was an awful drag, but once again Williams shows that his music is so perfect, it can stand alone perfectly outside of the maudlin drek of the film it was attached to.
