About the Author
Elizabeth James has been in a stepparent situation since 1986. Her husband's daughter was six at their first introduction and is now facing her 21st birthday. She has lived first hand through years of frustration and exhaustion stepparents face by being ignored, blamed, assaulted, discounted and completely rejected. Only through the tools learned through therapy (and a good bit of humor) is she now able to understand and cope with the behavior of the stepchild as well as the biological parents. At 42 years old, Elizabeth James is looking forward to much brighter days while she puts to good use these new relationship tools.
