6 of 6 people found the following review helpful By Beverly Praiswater on March 25, 2003
Format: Audio CD
This cd from 1984 has lively and complex sax sounds. It was the genius of George Howard portrayed in early cd's such as this that propelled him to continue his work. While you could say that some of the sound heard here is funky, George Howard's complex style far exceeds most sax out there today. "A Tear of Spring" is very fine. "Human Nature" is perfection. Annie Lennox's song "Sweet Dreams" receives some sweet justice. Anyone who loves the Grover Washington songs of the 80's will enjoy this cd. That's because George Howard & Grover Washington Jr. played together in their early careers. Both artists are gone and this cd will be gone soon too, so if you can still acquire it, hurry.

I spent over 20 years in music retail and in all those years I was able to make the following statement only a handfull of times to my customers:"If you don't like this record there is something wrong with your ears"
This was released before the whole Kenny G "LIGHT" jazz movement.George Howard put out this album of covers and originals and it is just a great listen. He has been influnced by Grover Washington and it shows thruout all of his work but George puts his touch on everything he plays.I love to play "Sweet Dreams" for my friends for the first time to watch their reaction.
This was his second album his first is out of print but after listening to this I'm sure you'll be buying his other albums

I was listening back to some old LP's that I have had for years when I stumbled across this one by George Howard My wife, daughter and I were reminiscing about our first trip to the Bahamas back in the late 80's when I first discovered music by Najee and George Howard. I had forgotten that this album was one of the top 3 George Howard's releases along with "Personal" and "Reflections" (in my humble opinion). So I had to have the CD version and now I have added it to my Sonos, Itune, Pandora, iCloud, and iPad music collection so I can listen and appreciate this album wherever I go. My favorites one this release are "A Tear of Spring" and "Human Nature." However "Sweet Dreams" and "Steppin Out" are jammin tunes. "Dr. Rock" is ok and the final cut, "Dream Ride" is great driving, on the road, music, or just sitting on the beach at night sipping on some smooth Mascoto wine.
