All Songs could be a hit,
By John Johnson (Denver, CO USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Steppin Out (Audio CD)
I just recently bought this album last week and I had to listen to it. This is his latest album since Hypnotic. I love his smooth sultry sax and his backround R&B music. It really gets you in the mood when you just want to relax from a hard day at work, or when you really don't want to do anything but listen to some relaxing smooth jazz that has no words just music. Every song on this album can be a hit on smooth Jazz radio stations it is that good. Paul never dissapoints you with his music. He makes sure that every song fits the listener's needs. I recommend this album to all smooth jazz listeners, and listeners who are just getting into smooth jazz. It's a great start.

"long way home,,,hits home ~ Paul Taylor",
This review is from: Steppin Out (Audio CD)
As a member of the Rippingtons, have followed Paul Taylor's career ~ much into Russ Freeman and Keiko Matsui, whom Taylor has been involved with on various projects. This latest release from Peak Records "Steppin' Out", features some of Paul's best work yet. His awesome unique style leaves you wanting more, almost sultry with blends of seduction.Just take a listen to "LONG WAY HOME", rhythmic sensual sounds hover the airwaves and your senses become numb. Each cue can easily hypnotize the listener into a complete trance. Those of us who have experienced his music know that he is definitely the smoothest jazz artist around today ~ has a way of making every song he touches his own! Total Time: 49:34 on 11 Tracks ~ Peak Records 8516-2 ~ (4/22/2003)

I bought this album about a month ago and could not put it down. I first listened to his Hypnotic album and was completely blown away, so when I bought this I knew it was going to be even better and it was. I love his R&B style jazz and his sultry sax. The backround keyboards and the percussion really make this album stand out all on it's own. Every single song on this album could be a hit that I myself would play on the radio. Trust me buyers. If you buy this album you won't be dissapointed. You can listen to it over and over again and never get sick of it. Don't take my word for it. Find out for yourself

He just keeps getting better,
This review is from: Steppin Out (Audio CD)
Paul Taylor has really hit a home run with this CD. It's terrific from start to finish; my favorite is the title track, which is smooth yet has a little up-tempo feel as well. This will be a CD to play consistently from start to finish, it's that good.

HIS BEST SO FAR,

I've been a Paul Taylor fan for just about a year, and this record is my absolute favorite. "On the Move" is my favorite cut, and reminds me a bit of Jimmy Reid's "India." "Cantina" and "Hacienda" have a nice Latin flavor that is refreshing. I generally like Paul's more upbeat songs better than the slower ballads, but the slower tunes on this record are wonderful. He radiates a sensual passion that flows into his music. This is a perfect "10."

I love this CD! Paul Taylor has delivered a smooth piece of work on this one. Every song on this CD is nice. It has done wonders for my much hated hour (and then some) long drive home on the beltways of the Wash DC Metropolitan area. This CD will land in your "frequently played" stack. Trust me.

Paul has hit it big with this new compilation. Pure, mature, sophisticated groove would be my description. He just gets better with time. All tracks are excellent with a wide variety of mixes but maintains the Taylor R and B/Funk groove. Awesome stuff ...

I have been a big fan of Paul Taylor since I first heard Pleasure Seeker back 1997. This is another outstanding recording by Paul. I had to listen to a couple of times grasp how good it really sound. I own four of his other CDS, I am not exactly sure yet but this could be his best recording yet.
