Good Balance,

This review is from: Steppin' Out (Audio CD)
Coming out of California in 1989 are r&b duo 10DB with their only release "STEPPIN' OUT". The male lead was GERARD and the female lead was PARIS. Their first lead was a remake of "I second that emotion". 10DB's version finds Gerard capable of the vocal responsibility to do such a remake in a hip r&b flavor for that time. The second single was the ladie's anthem "Steppin' Out" with PARIS taking the lead in self assured vocal about a girl's night out!The slow jams are just as competent. The standout track is "You could've been my lady" ("oooh so much love i feel" shouts Gerard as Paris responds "sorry baby love don't pay the bills"). This song plays on a man who loves his woman, but she has the eye for the guy with the cash. "Midsummer slow cut" is another good ballad with its laid back jazzy feel. This is sitting out on the beach with the one you love with a glass of wine. Another good track "Inside your love" is pure 80's dance/freestyle. It is a big switch from the rest of the album but a welcomed one. This cd was released on the independent label 'Crush Music'. It is now out of print, but if you can get a hand on it you should definitely give it a listen. A group that would have had better luck if they were on Capitol or MCA records.

Too bad this group didn't record another CD. It's a great listen. Love the background vocals and smooth harmonies
