5.0 out of 5 stars Definitely NOT a "How To" book, December 4, 2006

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Stepping Off the Edge: Learning & Living Spiritual Practice (Paperback)
Sandy Nathan leads the reader with wit and warmth into taking a look at life, in particular, their own life and just what is going on. More importantly, she helps the reader ask the important questions. Do I like my life? Do I like the way I am living? If the answer is 'yes,' be ready to sit back and enjoy an enlightening excursion to another level of living. If you unfortunately answer 'no,' be ready to learn specific ways to turn 'no' into 'yes', or, at least, 'maybe.' Ms. Nathan guides without preaching, leads without pushing, and does it all with a sense of humor as she shares her own life experiences.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stepping Off the Edge by Sandy Nathan, February 11, 2009
This review is from: Stepping Off the Edge: Learning & Living Spiritual Practice (Paperback)
Thank you, Sandy Nathan -- you have managed to get it across that journeying along the spiritual path is not something reserved for a select few; it is, rather, a description of the life of every human being. Stepping... mirrors my innermost thoughts and struggles, and the stirrings of my soul's awakening. The booked grabbed me right off in chapter 1, with the sidebar, "What do you really want?" - a question that gets to the foundation of all behavior and being.
I devoured your book; read most of it late into the night, and just finished the last few chapters last night. I loved it!! I was touch, inspired, expanded, and goaded into greater self commitment.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for writing this really wonderful book.

This review is from: Stepping Off the Edge: Learning & Living Spiritual Practice (Paperback)
I love this book. It appeared in my life at just the right time. Every person is at a different place on the spiritual growth chart. But no matter where you are, Sandy Nathan's book can help guide you to your next phase. Stepping Off The Edge: Living and Learning Spiritual Practice contains exercises to help you grow, along with stories from the author's own journey in finding her spiritual self. The book is written in an easy to read style, yet is full of wisdom and common sense. As I read, I felt that Sandy Nathan was a real friend who cared about helping me and who was honest and forgiving. In addition to her own insights about spiritual growth and finding one's way, Ms. Nathan has included in the book a list of valuable resources for continued study.

Sandy Nathan is a woman I can identify with - bright, well-educated, accomplished and, yet, struggling with life's challenges. Her articulate description of her path inspires.

5.0 out of 5 stars will leave you asking many questions about your quality of life., May 3, 2007
This review is from: Stepping Off the Edge: Learning & Living Spiritual Practice (Paperback)

When I first began my spiritual journey, I found myself hungry for any information about the spiritual path that I could find. Unfortunately, there were a lot of great books, but they were beyond my understanding at the time. I needed something that would help me understand the changes that were taking place in my life and to help me transition to the next level. That is exactly what Sandy Nathan's "Stepping off the Edge: Learning & Living Spiritual Practice" does. The author writes with sincerity, humor and total honesty about life on the spiritual path.

This book is about Sandy Nathan's real-life journey on the spiritual path. She is completely honest about her addiction with e-bay and the many other human qualities that can block the spirit in one's life. I really enjoyed Nathan's writing style and can best describe it as gentle and humorous. I almost felt like I was reading a friend's stories rather than an author that I did not know. I can see why people entering the spiritual path trusted her to talk with them about their experiences.

As the author began the journey on her spiritual path it took her on many interesting adventures, from living on a working horse ranch in California, to becoming a writer and leading her to a Native American spiritual retreat called the Gathering. I have never been on one of these retreats but I was fascinated by what happens to her during her most recent one.

This book will leave you asking many questions about your quality of life. Are you happy with it? Would you like to live your best life possible? Through her writings you will be able to learn to listen to your spirit on a daily basis and make what you want possible in your life. I thought "Stepping Off the Edge" was very well written and would recommend it to people new to the spiritual path. You will find not only a well-written book, but feel like you have made a friend on the spiritual path.

Book received free of charge.
