Honestly, there really hasn't been a lot from female singers that have really drove from the heart this past year. From Katy Perry and Britney Spears, to Madonna dn Mariah Carey, they've all made songs and albums, that really lagged behind, and felt like they lack all heart. For newcomer Duffy, she really has been very surprising as a vocalist by bringing the blues well heart and soul in her songs, and that has shown well with Stepping Stone, the 3rd single from her debut album Rockferry. After the strength and somberness of her last single Warwick Avenue, I really was impressed with Duffy's bluesy appeal. She definitely shows a lot of growth here, and feels like she is showing the makings of a young Dusty Springfield. I like the appeal of Duffy, and I hope she can keep it up with the next single off she makes. Duffy right now, is really no stepping stone.

Love Duffy's style and agree she's pretty to watch sing. Stepping Stone is my fave.....though Mercy is sooo good too. Listen to Stepping Stone when your heart is breaking and you will definitely cry. She has passion in her songs, which is refreshing. Thanks, Duffy!

Mercy drew me in, but Stepping Stone is by far my favorite. Not usually my style of music but this girl can sing. (And write, and not half bad to look at either!)
