About the Author

Known for presenting the Scripture in living color, Christian speaker, author, and ministry leader Beth Moore brings joy and excitement in Christ to life through words. Her deep love for the Savior is obvious; her style of speaking electric. She loves the Lord, loves to laugh, and loves to be with His people.

Beth first realized God was seizing her future for full-time ministry at the age of 18. She conceded all rights to the Lord she had loved since childhood. Being confident of God's calling on her life, she finished her degree at Southwest Texas State University where she met and married Keith Moore.

In the years that followed, Beth served the Lord by teaching Mothers Day Out, speaking at women s luncheons, retreats, and seminars, leading Christian aerobics, and teaching Sunday School. At the request of her first Bible study class, she wrote daily homework on the Old Testament Tabernacle. That material later became Beth s first published Bible study, A Woman s Heart, God s Dwelling Place. Ten Bible studies and numerous books have followed. Beth speaks at conferences all over the United States and enjoys getting to serve women of every age and denomination. She is passionate about women knowing and loving the Word of God, which she says is life out of the pit for her.

Beth and Keith praise God for 28 years of marriage. They enjoy traveling, hiking, drinking coffee on the back porch, eating Mexican food, making each other laugh, and being grandparents. The Moores live in Houston, Texas, with their dogs, Beanie and Sunny. They have two adult daughters, Amanda and Melissa. Amanda and her husband, Curtis, serve at a church in the Dallas area and have an 18 month old son named Jackson. Melissa, who shares her mother s appreciation for original languages, recently received her Master s degree in Biblical exegesis.

I have worked on several of her studies in the past, and as always, Beth Moore has shed light on the historical pilgrimage as well as on our spiritual pilgrimage through these passages in Psalms. It is a shorter study than most of the ones she's written in the past. While the individuals who complete it will not be required to make as long a time commitment to this study, they will need to keep up with their homework each week in order to receive the blessings from it.

I've always enjoyed the psalms - and this is a fresh look at 15 of them - with Beth Moore's diligent study and application. Excellent and rewarding to spend time in this study - it's short - only 6 weeks. Helpful to have the videos/mp3s for the listening sessions. Enjoy - I highly recommend it.

Excellent study. Very easy to follow. No matter where you are in your faith, you will grow as a result of it. Touches on every emotion you could have. Especially great if dealing with difficult people in your life.

This is a very interesting Bible study by Beth Moore. The homework is different from any of her other studies. You will learn to personalize the psalms of ascent. The lectures are outstanding on the Jewish feasts and their application to our lives.

I have read two of Beth Moore's books and done seven of her bible studies which include two with our church group. (up to 90 or so women with many discussion tables) To be fair and honest just sayin that I don't think this one comes up to her standards. It is too wordy with not much research (she usually excells in that); too many vague and unclear questions which one has to stretch beyond memory to answer. I skipped many of them. I get the idea that she is overly intent in convincing us that "she too is human." which most of us know already and understand. That point is belabored. I do enjoy the Psalms and must admit her approach to them is a bit challenging (I did all of the exercises) ..but I wouldn't recommend this study to others for the preceding reasons especially if you are doing an individual study. In a group you may be able to connect the dots better. I just don't want to say for sure though. I think bottom line is that she learned much and improved greatly since she wrote this one. Despite these critical comments.. I do plan on doing another one of her group bible studies in the fall.

Finally, I have been and may be a table leader of one of her studies again. I would never sign up to lead discussion for this study. I think the women would have a hard time with the vagueness and unclarity involved.

This was my first bible study and I thought it was great. Easy to follow and kept me hungry for more. I recommend it - the video is nice, but not necessary. I took the study through my church and found the quiet time study on my own plus discussion later in my group were enough. The video only added more insight into Beth's take on the three feasts.

At fist I was unsure what I was going to think but, since starting it I'm truly enjoying the way we study each Psalm of Ascent. Her approach is fresh and enjoyable all in one. Highly recommend to do alone or with a group.

This is one of the best Bible studies I have ever done. The Psalms of ascent (Psalms 120-134) were made so special to me seeing them through a thorough study with an excellent teacher, Beth Moore. She made me see things I have never seen, brought out some really good points and she knows God's word! I did this study with a women's Bible study group at our church and we had the weekly video teaching by Mrs. Moore to go with this study book. It might be harder to follow without the video portion, but would still be rewarding. Be prepared to do the homework and get into God's word in this study. God bless!
