Effective organizational leaders need to understand the big picture. Effective leaders observe more carefully, diagnose more accurately, and understand more deeply. Navigating the subtleties of organizations, through the perspective of complex systems, is the focus of this book.

Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher

This is a book about understanding how organizations work (or don't work!). From the perspective of complex adaptive systems theory, Ollhoff and Walcheski have created an accessible overview of organizational function and dysfunction. The book is light-hearted without being superficial, humorous without being distracting, and is full of examples and metaphors to illuminate the important concepts.

3.0 out of 5 stars worth the read, April 16, 2007
By

This review is from: Stepping in Wholes: Introduction to Complex Systems (Paperback)
The first half of this book can be read on either a personal or professional level; a light-weight read. The second half is more professional, but doesn't get bogged down with self-importance.
