5.0 out of 5 stars A quick read that packs a powerful process!, October 22, 2009
This review is from: 5 Steps to Expert: How to Go from Business Novice to Elite Performer (Hardcover)
5 Steps to Expert is a must read for anyone who is serious about personal or professional improvement. Not only is this book insightful and well written, but also impeccably researched! Dr. Paul Schempp draws upon his more than 20 years of experience in the field, weaves in the most current and useful findings about expertise, and offers real life examples from business, sports, and other areas of achievement. This book delivers a process that will help you evaluate your actual (as opposed to imagined) level of expertise in your field, then take deliberate steps to become better. The exercises and assessment tools are very well-designed, honing in upon specific steps for strengthening one's experience, knowledge, and skills.

As I read 5 Steps to Expert, I was able to apply the lessons to both my professional capabilities and my recreational pursuits. Interestingly, some of my unrealized goals also came to mind. With this tool in hand to serve as a guide, I feel better equipped to stretch my abilities.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Resource for Achieving Top Performance, January 25, 2009
This review is from: 5 Steps to Expert: How to Go from Business Novice to Elite Performer (Hardcover)
As an organizational development consultant, I found 5 Steps to Expert to be an enlightening and fresh approach describing how people can become top performers in organizations and industry. The writing style is engaging and clear, and Schempp uses both contemporary research and practical examples to support and illustrate the key points in the book. I found the transfer of ideas from the book to practice to be both easy and helpful, particularly in my work in leadership development and coaching. I recommend this book for anyone who wants to gain more expertise in their field as well as for human resource or training executives and life or business coaches.
