Marcia's expertise shines through in the book. You can tell she's a pro who has been working her craft for a long time. This book cuts to the chase and relates a concrete plan for you to execute. But, be aware, although Marcia lays out a step-by-step guide, you must be willing to put in the work.

This book contains information I needed to know, but its delivery is what most impressed me. A book about marketing could very easily be boring. 6 Steps to FREE Publicity is not. A book about marketing could be so general that the reader can't imagine how it might be applicable to her business. Not the case, here. Yudkin provides examples from a broad range of entrepreneurs and somehow, miraculously, even when she's describing a publicity method utilized by a pet care business, I could always see a way to apply those ideas in the promotion of my books and myself as a writer.

If you are an author, as I am, and you feel like you need a stronger foundation in promoting your work but you don't want to spend a fortune doing it, read 6 Steps to FREE Publicity.

I highly recommend 6 Steps to FREE Publicity to absolutely everybody!

I am in the process of launching a new business and I must say, Marcia has given me some great ideas for free publicity. The book is well written, giving simple examples for most of the concepts. I especially liked the chapter on press releases. She gives some great advice for constructing a release and includes details on the distribution process. I have an MBA but the concepts in this book are new to me.

I recommend this book to anyone trying to launch or improve their business. If you purchase 6 Steps to Free Publicity and apply the concepts, your increase in business will far surpass the minimal cost of the book.

Definitely worth the read! I'm always looking for ways to promote my company, Grategy.com, and this book was chock-full of ideas. Marcia Yudkin reminded me of some of the things I had been doing but got away from, as well as giving me a whole new set of ideas to implement. Through the National Speakers Association, I was familiar with many of the people that she quoted in her book, so it was nice to see the real-world examples that she used. I also liked the fact that she encourages the reader to err on the side of getting publicity - not to turn down any opportunities. Recently I was invited to be a guest on HuffPost Live. Even though the topic was slightly outside of my area, I jumped at the chance to join the program. Being a long-time fan of Huffington Post Live, it was an honor to be labeled a "Gratitude Expert" on their site. A screen shot captured the moment - let the marketing begin!

I felt that everything in the book was implementable - this was not a book of just a bunch of theories. I'm glad I made the investment in this book and I will continue to refer to it for new ideas on a regular basis. Thank you Marcia!

I've just finished reading 6 Steps to Free Publicity (Awesome English) by Marcia Yudkin. For $15.99 I could have saved myself hundreds of dollars in pay-per-click ads and print advertising.

Not only is publicity FREE (aside from the time you put into it), it is more respected by prospective clients. The public assumes that your message is worth more because you didn't pay for it. It's news-worthy

6 Steps to Free Publicity (Awesome English) gives a step-by-step process for getting your name, your business, and your message onto blogs, television, radio and in print. The book is written in a straight-forward and at time, humorous, manner. Learn how to write your way into newspapers and magazines, schmooze with reporters, avoid common pitfalls, write a sparkling press release, and become known as an expert in your field.

As a new business owner, this book is a gem. She helps you stay on the "good side" of the media with a list of reporters and editors top pet peeves. She includes examples of press releases, public service announcements and testimonials. There is also a section about the difference between writing for search engine optimization and writing for print media. For example, while the term news release is commonly used in the media, it won't move your news release to the top of a Google search. Most people still use press release when looking for news about you or your company.

"6 Steps to Free Publicity" by Marcia Yudkin is an excellent book with plenty of practical advice. If you are a first time author then this book is for you. Most publishers today don't have the time or the money to properly publicize your book especially if you are a first time author with no track record. You will have to do a lot of leg work yourself and this book gives you the framework to do that publicity.
