5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent for beginners...and for people who've done it before, March 25, 2007
This review is from: 10 Steps to Successful International Adoption: A Guided Workbook for Prospective Parents (Paperback)
This book is really what it says it is: America's definitive guide to international adoption. Step-by-step, it walks you through all the decisions you should make before you get started on an international adoption (the process, choosing a country, selecting an agency, funding your adoption), then, just as carefully, it leads you through the more important process(and most neglected in 'how-to-adopt' books)of what to do and consider once you bring your child home. This is more than a workbook - it's a true reference book about adopting internationally. I wish that we had this book when we were in the process of adopting our son from Russia, and I'll certainly use it if we're lucky enough to adopt again.

5.0 out of 5 stars A MUST READ BOOK!, March 22, 2007
This review is from: 10 Steps to Successful International Adoption: A Guided Workbook for Prospective Parents (Paperback)
This is a must read for anyone looking at international adoption. This book is well-written for the everyday person. I found the workbooks so helpful. The country information was up to date and helped us so much in making our decision. It was nice to read about adoption from an author that had adopted herself a child from Ukraine. She put a nice personal touch on her book. I'd highly recommend it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excelllent Resource for Adoptive Parents!!, July 8, 2007

Susan "Susan" (Largo, FL United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: 10 Steps to Successful International Adoption: A Guided Workbook for Prospective Parents (Paperback)
I bought this book shortly after we signed the contract with our adoption agency to bring home our baby from Kazakastan. I was pretty overwhelmed with all the paperwork requirements on getting together our dossier. This workbook is EXTREMELY helpful. It breaks it down into very "doable" tasks, and gives great advice for keeping track of everything. It's all prettty overwhelming at first, but really, if you take one step at a time, and listen to her "Jump ahead" advice, it's all very easy. This is a wonderful resource and I recommend you buy it and keep it close.
