This CD is cool! I bought it because I loved its tracks, especially the soft "Make It Easy On Me", the enigmatic "Deeper Shade Of Blue", the Chinese-touched "After The Love Has Gone" and the smash revival "Tragedy". All the songs are great which makes it one of those on the top of my list. I love their songs because they sing uniquely and they fit, blend and bind together perfectly as a group. By the way, the Philippine version of this album contains an extra track "One For Sorrow (New Version)" which is also featured on the Drive Me Crazy soundtrack. This album is a must-have for all Steps and pop fans alike.

Steps' second album is just outstanding! The tracks go through perfect up-beat pop to stunning ballads. The girls (Claire, Faye and Lisa) got excellent voices, and the guys (Lee and H) show up a lot more in this album than in its precursor `STEP ONE'. The cd consist in 14 songs starting by `TRAGEDY', an excellent cover of the Bee-Gees hit. `AFTER THE LOVE HAS GONE' a really slowy-song at first that turns into an up-beat one while reaching the chorus, with a really cool oriental feel. `LOVE'S GOT A HOLD ON MY HEART', extremely catchy. Claire's got an excellent voice in this one. `SAY YOU'LL BE MINE', By now, you'll feel like in pop heaven, it features vocals by the five steps members, definitely a favourite. Track five is `I THINK IT'S LOVE' a ballad sang by Claire alone. Good one. `MAKE IT EASY ON ME' follows and it's also a good pop song, although it's not a really surprising one. Then it's `DEEPER SHADE OF BLUE', a really wicked one! It's just too much for one album. `MOVIN ON' and `NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN' have almost the same concept: strong vocals, up-beat melodies and catchy choruses -anyway, `NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN' is much better. `WHEN I SAID GOODBYE' really sad-but-cool ballad. Track eleven is `I SURRENDER' excellent pop. Twelve slows it down to `SINCE YOU TOOK YOUR LOVE AWAY', a beautiful ballad-Faye sings it lovely. `MY BEST FRIEND'S GIRL', sang by H -I think-, it's a good song. Finally as the closing of an excellent album: `YOU'RE EVERYTHING THAT MATTERS TO ME', perfect end, a gorgeous ballad featuring a sad piano melody and Faye's incredible voice. So, if you're looking for an album that will get you in the mood for a dance and with really good slow songs, then this is the album for you... What are you waiting for? - THIS IS STEPTACULAR! -

This is one of the best CDs from Steps. I like all of Steps' Cds. They are the only group I really listen to. In the US, practically no one knows who they are unless they watch Disney or Nickelodeon. Well, let's get on with this review, LOL!

u know what? it wasn't easy to find Steps' album over here, cause the album released a few month later than UK, sometimes, half a year! i'm so glad that i got this special edition of the Steps' second album - "Stepstacular", but it actually came in double CD packing over here.
anyway, clicked with some of the songs when i saw their concert and that makes me can't wait to get this album! i first click with "deeper shade of blue", one my my most fav of Steps numbers, the beat, the rhythm and the lyric were just right for each other!
i enjoy the album, mostly from the first song til the 11th song, "tragedy" was a legend and it became "legender" after being covered by Steps. "say u'll be mine" is one of the best song to dance to it, if u hav watched their concert, first and second, u would know what i mean by that!
in this album, u'll hav the chance to actually hear H singing his solo part i "when i said goodbye", well, i don't actually expect his soft vocal but it's nice that finally i can really hear him singing!
"love's got a hold on my heart" definitely deserved to be the song of the year that they were awarded. cheerful, joyful and full of Steps' power!
i always enjoy remixes and the disc 2 definitely did it for me, although it was the song from the first album, but i still enjoy it, Steps music stays!
Steps been growing and the vocals have been improving since then, all the best for them! may God bless!

I love this cd i dont see how anyone says steps cant sing those people obiously dont realise how unbelievably hard it is to get your voice as high as Claires in 'loves got a hold of my heart' and 'after the love has gone' which are one of the many good songs on this album amongst 'say youll be mine' and 'deeper shade of blue'. Some other songs show a new side to steps like 'when i said goodbye' which is a slow song. I love every song on this cd and say anyone else who likes pop will too. There a truly talented boy girl-group

This is my favorite Steps CD. That's because it has all my favorite Step songs like "Love's got a hold on my heart", "Say you'll be mine", and so on . Steptacular is a great name since this CD is spectacular!

Tragedy-A good start to the album with a great dance routine 9/10

After The Love Has Gone- A little bit on the slow side for Steps but still really good 8/10

Love's Got A Hold On My Heart- One of my favourite steps songs of all time. An upbeat, dancey pop song. 10/10

Say You'll Be Mine- I love this song, it is the best song steps ever did 10/10

I Think It's Love- A romantic, slushy ballad that is sung really well 9/10

Make It Easy On Me- Not one of my favourites but still worth a listen 6/10

Deeper Shade Of Blue- This song gets a bit too annoying & repetitive after a while, not so keen on it 4/10

Movin On- Great, inspirational song with fab lyrics. 9/10

Never Say Never Again- Another fantastic song 10/10

When I Said Goodbye- Slow, romantic song. Pretty good but feels as if something is missing 6/10

I Surrender - Great pop song 7/10

Since You Took Your Love Away- Not one of my favourites but still worth a listen 5/10

My Best Friend's Girl-This song grew on me. I didnt like it at all at first but now I do 7/10

You're Everything That Matters To Me- A slow finish to the album, just an average track, nothing too special about it 5/10

Overall, a great album with some fantastic songs

This is the second of the three Steps album released by the band. I have the Australian release version which has 16 tracks (14 tracks plus 2 bonus.),which is practically the same as this imported (UK) version. Of the three albums, I rate this the best, slightly ahead of 'Buzz'(16 track Aust release) and Step One (13 track Aust release) not far behind it. This album has a mixture of good dance, pop and ballad songs. The female members of the group each have distincively different voices but blend in very well together along with the two guys. What I believe makes this a very-good album is that a lot of the better tracks are the ones which were not released as singles. People who have heard the songs that were released as singles will know they were good songs. This group are sometimes compared with Abba. I am a huge Abba fan, as I grew up in that era (I am 40), there are similarities with some of their music, but in other ways are very different.

This album also contains my all time fave song, "Say You'll Be Mine" which features Lisa singing "...I can feel how close we're getting". "Love's Got A Hold Of My Heart" features Lisa echoing "S.O.S", "There's no escape" and "Ooooh hooo" which really makes the song. Sadly, this album doesn't contain the Aha! Mix of "After The Love Has Gone".
