~ A must have for the GYM!!,

***EDIT: 5 Stars!!!!!***
***EDIT: DO NOT Tuck INTO iskin, it looses Range and sound breaks up!!*** I bought these strictly for use at the gym! I got so tired of having wires hanging from my head while trying to lift weights! These headphones seemed right up my alley.... These headphones served thier purpose for me, however they look a little funny on! They seem to stay on well though. They do not take to Bass well, but with adjusting the sound on my Ipod Nano it sounded great! I would suggest these for others!! I have an iskin for my Nano which I thought worked well for tucking in the "dongle" reciever to the silicone case! However I noticed by doing this the sound started cutting out further than 3 paces! Pros: 1. No wires wrapping around that get in the way. 2. Decent sound, can get loud if need be!! 3. 30' Line of sight Distance from "Dongle"! 4. Great battery life! Good for 3+hrs!!! Cons: (MINOR) 1. Does not take to bass well (However with adjusting your EQ on an ipod it will be fine) 2. I would like to have seen it good for 60'+ from Dongle, but oh well! I do not have a bluetooth phone to try these with the "call-answer" features!

Some reviews can be deceptive,

These earphones work perfectly well. There is a slight buzz when you use the adapter, but its not so bad unless you use them exclusively to listen to lower volume music from a player without bluetooth, at which point the buzz is unacceptable.
The only substantial problem i had with the unit is that there is no clear statement of whether the two drums are connected or not; they are. The picture shows a wire coming out of each drum that fades into nothing, and if you read certain reviews you're left wondering, are they connected? They are, which is annoying. As seemingly impossible as this is, i had hoped for a unit with two separate pieces that worked in concert; no such luck. I don't see the engineering challenge beyond possible battery issues ... anyway. I could've returned them, but i decided to try them out anyway because they did reduce the number of items i would need to carry. Pairing with my blackberry curve was straightforward. Sound quality wasn't perfect in the case of audio playback, but is good enough for me to use them over normal headphones given that it eliminates something else i would have to carry. They work admirably well as a headset as well. Possibly the coolest use that i haven't utilized enough is pairing them with both the bluetooth receiver and a bluetooth enabled phone at the same time. I have used it, it does work, but it can be annoying to complete the pairing. That said, the ability to play my Nintendo DS and answer phone calls at the same time during a train commute is nice. I would recommend considering adding a velcro square to the receiver if you plan to use it outside of your pocket. The receiver can be annoying if it's dangling from whatever it's plugged in to. One last note; they use a charger which is not mini-usb; for someone who is trying to reduce the number of devices, cords, &c. that they must carry this is a strike against them.

I'm going to keep this one short and simple: these headphones are amazing. If you want to go tanning, workout at the gym, play guitar (quietly) or just roam around the room these are the headphones for you. The ear clips are comfy especially if you don't like that giant wing over your head.
They do have a learning curve, as it will take a good 30-60 minutes to learn how to use them. But once you got it, you got it! Not only are they good with iPods and laptops but are awesome for cellphones too. You can answer calls with them and hear the person clearly. Not much else to say other that I am very satisfied (they were shipped in 3 days!) and that these headphones are the best bang for the buck.

I wanted to be really pleased with this item, because I'm really tired of dealing with wired headsets - those wires really get in my way. The iLuv i202 worked great if I was sitting still, at my desk for example. But when I get up to move around - gardening for example - it would cut out for a few moments until I would move the transmitter.
It comes with its own Bluetooth transmitter, which exhibited the above problem behavior. I also tried it with a Jabra music adaptor, a compatible stereo Bluetooth transmitter, and got the same results. Accordingly I would like to think the problem is with the headset, and not with the transmitters. Thankfully Amazon has its liberal return policy, so I returned this item today and am ording something else (the Sony DR BT30QS).

Decent for music... Awful for calls,

Note: I did not buy this product through Amazon. Normally however, especially with electronics, I do buy on Amazon after hours of extensive research so lets just call this one an impulse buy.
How I wish I would have followed my normal routine. If I had, I would not have bought this headset. The music playback is decent but not great and the call quality is HORRIBLE. I owned the product for about five days before returning it. It is almost useless for phone calls as people cannot hear me. Also, the little wire that connects the two ear covers it extremely annoying and guaranteed to break. This wire is slyly hidden in packaging and descriptions. That's not cool. For the money ($80+) these should be much higher quality. I never used the extra transmitter piece because I was using the device with my HTC EVO 4G which streams Pandora and plays MP3's through Bluetooth.

I had high hopes for these headphones, I liked that I could use them with both my bluetooth enabled gadgets but mainly was looking for headphones that weren't too bulk to wear in bed while watching tv.
I was on a quest for the perfect set of headphones for TV/computer use while in my bedroom at night. Here were my requirements - Lightweight, not too bulky so I could lay on my side while watching tv - Must block sound of husband snoring :>, probably the most important requirement. - Good clean sound - Use with both bluetooth and non wireless gadgets I had really high hopes for these, but here's what I found: There was a lot of interference, static, so if you have multiple wireless gadgets this might not be for you. Also, they tend to fall off your ears, so using them in bed isn't ideal which was the key requirement. Noise blocking? Not so much. Anyway, like the design, good attempt at creating a really useful product, just wish the execution were a bit better. I'm still looking for the perfect set of headphones and till then will use standard infrared ugly bulky ear muffs because why bother paying premium price when nothing has all the features i'm looking for?

Good but not great,

The product works fine but like the other review says I wouldn't put the adapter in a Ipod skin to work out with. The product has difficulty maintaining a connection when it is slid inside. I also noticed that if the connector is on the opposite side of the receiving end of the head phones it can also lose connection. I used it with my computer to talk on Skype and I noticed a break in connection every now and then the batteries were fully charged so that wasn't a problem. It also could of been the net since I was testing them from Kuwait. The wire that connects the headphones is kind of annoying but it's still a upgrade from wired headphones. The headphones themselves put out a good sound, you can even control the volume with the headphones instead of messing with your mp3 player. I have yet to test the mic on the product. I would recommend this product if your just wanting to get rid of the wired headsets. It also works out well if you do not like having a mp3 player attached to your arm while you work out at the gym.

Great without dongle,

This is a great product for use with cell phone. It is the best bluetooth hands free that I have used. Sounds good for both the caller and the person called. The dongle is what makes this product not a 5 star. Battery life on the dongle is low, would be nice if it could draw power from laptop when used on laptop. Also when used with dongle there is static. The music will cover the static while playing, but between songs or paused static is bothersome. Headphones can only be paired with 2 devices (dongle counts as one) so even though I have bluetooth laptop, I have to use dongle with laptop because I have the headphones paired with dongle (for iPod) and cell phone.
These are more comfortable than the logitech free pulse because there is no rigid wire that runs behind your neck.

Impressive for both music & phone,
This review is from: iLuv i202 Stereo Bluetooth Earclip Phones with Bluetooth Transmitter (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I've had these now for over a year and I'm pleasantly surprised at how well they stand up. I have used he the dongle and it works as it should but what makes the headset standout is how easy they are to operate with a phone and how comfortable they are. It paired to all of my phones well, even my most recent the 800w. I can hear all calls very clearly and because you hear the caller on both speakers makes it very natural. The ear pieces are extremely easy to wear and are very comfortable.
The only downside is how you look with them on, but that is a small price to pay for the performance they give. |
