2nd generation ipod touch does have mic support but it does not recognize the mic on this although it claims support for ipod touch.

This mic doesn't work for an iPod Touch. It's a waste of money if you ask me. I'm glad I didn't waste more money on it...

Hey what did you expect for $10?
Sound is awful. Very tinny, no base, easy distortion.
Fine for talking, intolerable for music.
