Editorial Reviews

The band's name stems from the combined electrical output of two human bodies. A similar kind of kinesthetic current flows through the music of 12 Volt Sex, which has inspired favorable comparisons to everyone from Squeeze to the Beach Boys to Cheap Trick. Though happy to be framed against such a luminous backdrop, the members of 12 Volt Sex prefer to be judged on their own terms. What started out as a few simple songwriting sessions for vocalist Matthew Gucu and guitarist Michael Stratton quickly became the perfect recipe for creating inerrant and edgy pop with the addition of bassist Jason Coleman and drummer Gary Wright. 5.0 out of 5 stars Don't know how to describe it, October 30, 2006
By
This review is from: Stereo Quatro (Audio CD)
Fans will know what I mean by this.

It's somewhere between punk, industrial, electronic, emo, indie, and of course, completely original components.

It's a true listening experience. This is for anyone who is sick & tired of the bland music that passes for "alternative" these days, and want to try some more edgy stuff.

I give it 4.5 out of 5 stars (because the recorded version doesn't measure up to the live experience).
