5.0 out of 5 stars Mark Doyle's a very busy man, January 23, 2005
This review is from: Stereo Sushi 6 (Audio CD)
I'm more of a fan of the beach house and stereo sushi series that hed kandi puts out, and numero 6, "sake," has shown me why. Beautiful, sexy, edgy house. It's like having little happy bubbles blowing through your place, only not in a scary way. My favorites are:
1) Joey Negro's "Sugar," which, once you let yourself get past the 'this is too 70's' notion, would make yo grandma get up and shake her cane (no offense).
2) Miguel & Jay J's "Friend of the Blues." Lemme say a big fat "thank you" for digging up a fresh migs mix! I'm sure this one will be making its way onto many more mixes in the next year.
3) Mood II Swing's "Can't Get Away." Sexy sexy sexy, and more sexy.

Buy it, love it, and play it over and over again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Come Get a Sip of This Sake., November 7, 2004

Hed Kandi's sister label has released a surprisingly consistent entry, filled with delicious house tunes bearing a soulful and jazzy edge. I say "surprisingly" because I didn't think Mark Doyle could come up with a compilation that could rival his own "Disco Kandi" series. As it turns out, I was wrong. Disc 1 is total bliss with treasures like Late Night Alumni's "Seemingly Sleepy," Mood II Swing's seductive "Can't Get Away," and Kathy Brown's disco thumper "Never Again." The second disc has rewind-worthy highlights like Simon Grey's "Prophecy," Rasmus Faber's classy "United/Divided," and Dina Vass' "Now I'm Free" which stand out particularly well. Groove Junkies' "Didn't I Bring You Love" is the sole clunker, thanks to its Jerry Springer lyrics. Other than that, most house listeners will find little to find fault with "Stereo Sushi - Sake." Like the drink after which it's named, it's intoxicating.

Came across this album quite by accident in Sydney last year. Heard it playin across the store & i immediately made a beeline to buy one! Since then I have bought the other Stereo Sushi series and this is definitely the best! Get it by all means! Enjoy it over yr iPod or even while driving or chillin' out.

Intoxicating it is! The artistes are the cream of the crop and certainly churn one of the best fare for soulful hse music!

ENJOY! You won't get sick of listening to this gem!
