5.0 out of 5 stars An awesome band with a great collection of media., April 30, 2009
This review is from: Stereophonics: Decade in the Sun - Best Of (DVD)
This is an excellent group with music for every mood. I am usually quite loyal to the bands that I love and listen to, but upon discovering the Stereophonics a few years back, I fell in love with their music.
This DVD offers up many of their popular songs in video, as well as live footage with special guests. AWESOME!
The music and videos are very moving, and their extra footage is very entertaining to watch. May be that there will be some laughs as well.
If you love even one song from this band, then you will want this item for your collection of media.
Get them at their best as they are marking a milestone in their career.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Quintessential Stereophonics DVD!, December 29, 2011
By
Eric James "EJ" (Belcourt, ND USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Stereophonics: Decade in the Sun - Best Of (DVD)
I just received this as a gift through Amazon's Wishlist for Christmas and I am obsessed with it! I was obsessed with Stereophonics over a decade ago. I was on their fan club street team and was sure they would have been bigger in America. I've remained loyal but kept putting off getting their DVD's until now.
First off, it's a great quality region-free DVD which is good news for those of us who have bought terrible quality region-free DVD's before. It includes nearly all their music videos (the few missing are alternate versions so it's not a big deal).
The tracklisting is: 1) *More Life in a Tramp's Vest 2) A Thousand Trees 3) Traffic 4) Local Boy in the Photograph (1997 Version) 5) *The Bartender and the Thief 6) *Just Looking 7) *Pick a Part That's New 8) *I Wouldn't Believe Your Radio 9) *Hurry Up and Wait 10) *Mama Told Me Not to Come 11) *Mr Writer 12) *Have a Nice Day (UK Version) 13) *Step On My Old Size Nines 14) Handbags and Gladrags 15) Vegas Two Times 16) *Madame Helga 17) *Maybe Tomorrow 18) Since I Told You It's Over 19) *Moviestar 20) *Dakota 21) *Superman 22) Devil 23) Rewind 24) It Means Nothing 25) *You're My Star
Tracks with an asterix feature introductions. The introductions are from live shows, interviews, and behind the scenes. It also gives good insight into the writing of the song.
More avid fans may notice the absence of the second version of "Local Boy in a Photograph" and the US version of "Have a Nice Day" (which was my favorite video!) But if you're thinking they missed out on "My Friends" and "Not Up to You", you're in luck! They're in the bonus section.
The bonus section includes: 1) I Wouldn't Believe Your Radio (Live with Noel Gallagher) 2) Mama Told Me Not to Come (Live at the Reading Festival 2000 with Tom Jones 3) Subsitute (Live at the Royal Albert Hall with the Who) 4) Bank Holiday Monday (Live at the VLMA's 2007) 5) Forgetting T-Shirt Suntan? 6) Don't Let Me Down (Live at the Hospital Club with Ronnie Wood) 7) A Thousand Trees (Early Live Version) 8) My Friends (Promo and Live TV Version) 9) Yellow Pages Ad 10) Summer (Live at Cadogan Hall) 11) Just Looking (Live at the V Festival 2008) 12) Looks Like Chaplin (Live at the Belfort Festival) 13) Not Up to You (Promo)
All in all the DVD is jam-packed with everything a casual and long-time fan would love to have. It took me about 3 hours to get through it all. Then I watched it again! The price makes this a steal.
I especially love how you see how Kelly's big mouth got him into so much trouble in the past. He's quite the character. Richard is always very calm. And it's good to see quite a bit of footage of the late Stuart Cable.
A must have for fans I must say!
