Format: Paperback
Amazing that no one has reviewed this book to date. This is a very well-written bio of Daniel Boone. It encompasses his life from his early 20's until his passing from this world. The author does an excellent job of portraying attitudes, prejudices, political considerations, Indian complexities, and the character of the people involved. All this in a package that is not overwhelming.

For independent readers ages 9-14 or more. Read-aloud to ages 7-10/11.
In truth this book is written for all ages.

This book was for a "pioneer birthday" present. It came promptly--was just what we needed. He loved reading it in his buckskin jacket!

We wanted books that told stories about real Americans and their lives. Our boys need role models today who aren't sports figures.
