I took on an ambitious project or restore 4 Victorian chairs. This book does a great job of explaining the materials needed and techniques to apply. Lots of pictures and good advice. Some detail is missing on some of the techniques but at least you are armed with knowledge to do a google search to flesh it out.
Oh - and it was written by an Englishman so some of the terms aren't the same as U.S. Upholsters use. Again, google to the rescue.
