The cushion of solid sterling silver is detailed with two concentric lines and a bright spot of genuine amethyst. The stone, once the most sought after gem around, was believed to keep the wearer from becoming intoxicated. Suspended on a sterling silver 17-inch-long box-link chain with a lobster claw clasps, the minimally adorned pendant is approximately 5/16-inch-square. I was looking for some nice jewelry to give our 14 and 16 year old nieces. This is not it. This will end up as a present for the 10 year old niece because we got it at the Friday sale price of $15. The pendant is smaller than the on-screen picture, smaller even than the fingernail on my ,ittle finger, and the stone is so small it is hard to see.If I had paid the $45 they ask for it regularly I would have been even more disappointed and asked for a refund... evven at only $15 I am tempted to send it back.

this is cute and i have the matching earrings. the stone is quite small so it's hard to see the color, but i like it anyway.
