It is a real emerald, however it is too small to see. I got this at a very good deal. I wanted to give it as a gift. I feel I can't do that as the stone is too small for a necklace. Know that this picture is hugely magnified. Stone looks as it appears in the picture as far as color and clarity.

pretty necklace, was very happy until the stone fell out. the prongs holding the stone were poorly made. disappointment!
