Sterling Silver Marcasite and Green Glass Teardrop Earrings

I received the matching heart pendant for these earrings last year. The necklace heart was clearly a red garnet color. Yesterday I received these earrings bought to wear with the pendant, but the earrings are a definite brown - more smokey topaz than garnet. They are not heavy so would be comfortable to wear. The back is flat, but the silver filligree is there so each earring piece looks "finished"- if that was putting you off buying these, don't let that deter you. I do love how the silver-work shows through the "stone" if back-lighted. I'm disappointed about the color but have some brown outfits I can wear with them, even if I can't wear them with the "matching" necklace.

I read all the reviews for both the earrings and the pendant necklace and decided to purchase them anyway, even though some had said these items were not worth the money. I should have listened. When the earrings arrived one of the stones had completely came loose from the sterling silver. It was only being held on by one tiny portion of glue at the base of the stone in the first place. I was affraid the other earring would fall apart too, and I was concerned about the quality of the necklace as well, so I returned them both. The return process was easy, and unfortunately was the most pleaseant part of my shopping experience. I advise strong caution when ordering this item!

These earrings are a perfect size - not too heavy, which nearly scared me off. They are tear shaped, rounded in the front, but FLAT in the back. This is interesting as the silver fleurs on the back show through adding interest. The earrings I purchased are a deeper red than pictured. Product shipped boxed, with Amazon jewelry care card (so, recipient will realize you got these online and not at a jewelry store).

These earrings are perfect. They are strikingly beautiful and not as heavy as one would think. They are a deeper red than they look in the picture. They are very detailed and just beautiful. I absolutely love them. I would love to have them in other colors.

I purchases some for my wife for Christmas based on the beautiful red color in the picture. The ones I received are so brown they are basically black. Even with light behind them they look dark brown.

The silver work looks nice, but the stones are not what is shown here.

I would not purchase them again, and I would send them back if they were not meant as a gift.

These are a lot lighter in weight than I expected. Not heavy at all. Color is as shown in picture. They're slightly bigger than I expected, but that's fine. They are fancy, but not too fancy. Very pretty and bright.

This was an inexpensive gift that was well made and appeared to have cost more.

I personally was disappointed with the color of the glass in these earrings: it is such a dark red that they actually look brown to me. They are definitely not the bright red pictured on Amazon.com. But I got them for my wife and she thinks they look red and she really likes the sterling detail wrapped around the glass. The earrings are a little heavier than we were thinking, but she still really likes them and they look great on her. Every time she wears them people comment on how pretty they are.

I'm giving these 4 stars because my wife really likes them and they are really pretty, but I would have preferred the brighter red as pictured on Amazon.

I received a different color than what was shown in the picture, instead of red I got a reddish brown

If you have your heart set on red, go someplace else. Earrings are very pretty, a little heavy but not too bad. Nice size. I really like them and plan on keeping them, although I really needed a red pair. These were more of an amber. Does not match picture description at all. I wont buy from this designer again if looking for specific color.
