I gave this locket to my daughter because she likes jewelry which looks old and regal. Filigrees look antique. While marquisate denote 'marquis' which includes a nobleman ranking below a duke and above an earl or a count in various European monarchies. This sterling filigree locket with its amethyst stone looks like something inherited and held dear to one's heart.And, yes, my daughter loved it!
