5.0 out of 5 stars Extremely wearable!, February 7, 2010
This review is from: Sterling Silver In Awe of the Earth Mosaic Beaded Stretch Bracelet (Jewelry)
I have all these Carolyn Pollack bracelets. This is one I wear most often. It goes with all browns, orange, green even blue and red. I love the medallion. It doesn't seem to scratch. I have had it for a year and it looks just like it did when I first saw it. Its a keeper for sure! It doesn't dig into my wrist or scratch eoither.

This was a true beauty - natural stones and sterling silver make this truly a stunning, yet simple pice. Got it for my wife for her Birthday, and she lovged it. Particularly great as a gift as it came in a cute box & sack.

This bracelet stretches to a comfortable 8". I bought this and the coral and they are both great. Toggle has pretty detailing and the stones are really colorful.

4.0 out of 5 stars VG, but silver quite a lot shinier than expected. Some pinching..., April 27, 2010

This is an interesting and fun beaded bracelet, although in a sense the "earthiness" of the piece suffers from the extreme brightness of the silver. With a bit of aging, perhaps, the silver focal point will mellow...although I fear the silver underlying the resin will remain eternally, relentlessly, vividly bright.

One of the first things I looked for was a means of removing the "medallion" without damaging it or the bracelet...too risky, from my point of view. I've neither the tools nor expertise to accomplish this bit of magic.

The bracelet arrived nicely boxed and the pouch is quite lovely, both in color and quality of material -- a welcome departure from the cheap "velvet" pouches that feel stiff, as though partially created from recycled cardboard. The combination of stones and wood and color mix is really very attractive. However, some aspect of combining chips with stretchiness creates a sensation of slight pinching while the bracelet is worn.

And, mind you, I do not have behemoth wrists. I'm a person with small frame and the stretching is only a factor when I slip the bracelet over my hand or intentionally move it up my arm or remove it while I'm showering, working in water, painting or gardening. It fits my wrist "as is" -- no stretching required.

Ergo, since the sensation of pinching is likely light rubbing caused by the chips, which have been tumbled to achieve smoothness -- I've noted that some retain a bit more "edge" than others -- the "stretching" is likely not the culprit. My suspicions are immediately upon the bamboo. Either this, or multiple rows of stretchable beading sufficient using primarily small, tumbled chips to create a cuff is a design concept that cries out for reexamination.

The price I paid for this bracelet was reasonable. A helluva bargain, considering the (alleged) full price. I have to wonder: "On what planet would someone pay seventy-five dollars for this piece?" Three places come to mind: Sedona, AZ, Las Vegas, NV and Santa Fe, NM. One might argue the point that these cities exist here on Earth and far be it from me to disagree...and yet, there's something distinctly extraterrestrial and extra-expensive about all three.

I do hope Relios and Corazon are not offended by a bit of constructive criticism sent their way. To slightly mangle a quote from material written by Woody Allen:

"Hemingway had just created his first bracelet, and Gertrude Stein and I took turns wearing it, and we said that is was a good bracelet, but not a great one, and that it needed some work, but it could be a fine bracelet. And we laughed over it. Hemingway punched me in the mouth."
