Not as shown or described, but still attractive,

My complaint concerns the misleading Product Description of the elements that make up this pendant. According to this Description, the white Mother-of-Pearl is supposed to be "iridescent", a quality which is also shown in the photograph; but there is no iridescence at all on the pendant that I received. Also, the pendant's bale as well as the clasp on the cord are supposed to be made from "tarnish-resistant rhodium-plated sterling silver"; yet both bale and clasp were very tarnished, almost black in fact, so I suppose the "rhodium-plating" step was just skipped. Plus, the cord is junky, but for some reason I was expecting that.
The reason I gave this item four stars despite all of the above is because it is still an attractive pendant: the mother-of-pearl, although not colorful, instead has a glowy quality reminiscent of a moonstone; the bale may not be "rhodium-plated", but it is still sterling and can be easily cleaned with a jeweller's cloth; and of course the junky leather cord can be replaced with a nice silver chain. Plus, the price is reasonable. Finally, a warning to anyone intending to purchase this pendant as a gift: the "sueded" pouch containing the pendant is covered in some kind of residue (most of it appears to be hair or beard trimmings, and the rest seems to be some kind of sediment). I suggest ordering this pendant and fixing up all the problems at home before giving it to someone else. Despite all of these problems the pendant is easily salvageable and quite attractive; but since I've purchased something that is so obviously intentionally mis-portrayed, I feel like I've been had.

The pearl on the stone is not iridescent, but nonetheless this is a pretty necklace and the jade is gorgeous! Definitely like it a lot better on a silver chain.

Well worth the price,

The quality of the pendant itself it wonderful. Although it doesn't quite have the same prismatic sheen as shown in the image, the mother-of-pearl dragon captures the light and appears to glow. Because of this, it is very easy to make out the dragon's position. It is also cleanly attached to the jade. The pendant is far too nice for the leather cord. It looks much better on a simple silver chain. Overall, I am very satisfied with this purchase. A must-buy for those who love dragons.
