I bought this necklace and pendant for my niece for her eighth birthday, as sapphire is her birthstone and she's beginning to be interested in birthstone jewelry. She was excited to have her first piece of "real" jewelry and proudly told me later that she wore it for a special occasion (where there were mostly adults) and got lots of compliments on it.

It's smaller than you might think from the photos, but not in a bad or cheap-looking way--"dainty" and "delicate" come to mind. Check the specs: the pendant is just about exactly 1 cm across. It might work for an adult woman, too, but the pendant seems to be scaled for a younger crowd.

The stones are clear and sparkly, and the silver setting shines beautifully. The chain is pretty but nothing special. I wish I had swapped in a shorter chain for my niece, as 18" is more adult-sized and the pendant hung a little low on her. But I have no regrets about the purchase, especially at the discounted price I paid for it.

This necklace was perfect for my 8-year granddaughter. it is "Real" without being expensive. Brilliant blue sapphire matches any outfit, and the chain is sturdy enough for any little girl.

Bought this for an 8yr old - she can be a bit of a tomboy. The chain is quite thin and was broken with a week or so. The pendant is cute and she loves it matched with the earrings. We'll buy a better chain soon.

You need a magnifying glass to see this really really tiny pendant. Might be good for a three year old but not for a grown woman. Even a small grown woman. And the chain is all knotted up. Ahhhh....disappointing.

When I received this necklace, it was not as shown. Without my knowledge, the company substituted cheap black stones for the sapphires (the stones were the blackest black, not just dark blue). The chain arrived very tangled.
