Sterling Silver and Turquoise Necklace, 34"

I would have rated this necklace higher EXCEPT that it came without the jump ring that should have attached the silver pendant to the necklace (see photo of necklace). Instead, the pendant was just hung around the necklace by the ring of the pendant itself making it impossible for the pendant to lie flat. I will have to go get one to fix this problem and I am tired of having to repair so called new items. Other than that, the necklace was well worth the price. This is the main problem with buying on-line. One cannot see the item and its obvious flaws and one cannot choose another of the same that does not have the flaw. Given the cost of sending items back, it is rarely worth the time and effort - at least to me. So I live with the flaws and the breakage etc. But it does seem to be getting worse lately, rather as if one is shopping at a rummage sale. Which is a shame since it makes me a bit more hesitant to order. In my opinion, quality control is definitely becoming an issue. I had originally intended this item as a gift but have decided otherwise due to the makeshift repair that I will need to make. Many items I buy are bought as gifts but I am beginning to rethink this strategy simply out of fear of being caught at the last minute with a flawed present that I would not feel comfortable giving.
