to the untrained eye, this looks like turquoise, but it's not...it is, in fact, a stone called magnesite, which most people do not know of...so sellers, whether unscrupulous or ignorant, call it turquoise...it's just dyed magnesite, a much cheaper stone (that's why the cheap price! you get what you pay for!)

Bought this for my Mother in law. She loved it! Also purchased matching earrings. She said she received so many compliments on how beautiful the necklace and earrings looked on her. This piece is a nice length, weight and finish. The color on mine is a bit more green than the one shown in the picture but the color is intense (in a good way). Like it.
