I did a bit of research before buying my backup battery. The Canon original was much more expensive, so I thought of buying this one...it was so cheap, I was ready to get a battery that discharged itself in a few hours with very low capacity...I was pleasently surprised, so far it has worked very well, I see no difference between it and the orginal Canon that came with my camera. They both last a long time on my camera. So far (5 weeks) I am definitively happy with it
