So far so good, I like that it adds additional functionality to butane canisters I have for use with my Thunder Range Portable Gas Cooker. Unlike the previous reviewer I know that the torch fits nicely onto any butane canister designed for a plethora of portable gas cookers. I'm currently using a brand called Sun Flame. You can find these canisters in many Asian food stores and sometimes sporting stores, I've even seen them in Costco from time to time. You usually get 3 to 4 canisters from about $6 to $8. I'm looking forward to all the many uses one can do with a culinary torch, and not just creme brulée, and I don't need to have a second type of butane canister to do it.

Used it for two weeks and loved it, then it stopped mixing air into the gas supply and so it can no longer operate safely. Instead it just spews butane and will not light. I regret not spending the extra twenty bucks to buy a high quality iwatani torch instead.

With generic butane tanks being sold for about a dollar at the local Chinese supermarkets, the Sterno Torch is powerful and cheap to refill. I use it for glazing over meats after any sous vide cooking. The trigger is easy to reach and never failed. At the end of the day, it's a simple torch at a fair price, not the $50 that other brands are asking for.

I DID NOT KNOW THAT GETTING THE BUTANE FOR THESE TORCHES WAS SO EXPENSIVE AND KINDA HARD TO FIND.ONCE U BUY SOME ITS WORKS GREAT!!

The torch requires a Sterno brand cannister of butane, which screws into the torch (according to the video instructions on You Tube; no instructions accompanied the product). No other brand of butane will work with the torch. You don't offer the Sterno cannister with the product. Since it was useless, I returned the torch and received a refund.
