An essential travel guide,
This review is from: Stern's Guide to the Cruise Vacation (Paperback)
This was the most complete cruise guide, I have ever read. It covers just about everything one needs to know about a cruise. It gave me all the details for every ship afloat. The rating system was most helpful and I especially appreciated the inclusion of menus, programs and photos for all the ships. The chapter describing what to do in every port of call in the world was also very valuable in planning my shore excursions.I highly recommend this book.

To me, this is the definative reference book of information of Cruise Ships. More infor and very detailed than most people want, but I just suck it up. The information at the front of the book is very helpful no matter how many times you have cruised.

I have used Stern's Guide for years. It is consistent and comprehensive.I have not found any "wrong information" as suggested by another reviewer. The menus do go on. However, cruising IS about eating and the examples are important when evaluating a cruise line. Stern even differentiates between ships within a cruise line. He doesn't just rate the line. It is a great reference book and offers lots of bang for the buck! Ed Rudd, Sarasota Fl

Too much of the wrong information,
By A. G. (MA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Stern's Guide to the Cruise Vacation (Paperback)
I found the book had alot of information but was quite disorganized. The many pictures, endless diner menus and sample daily iternaries became overwhelming. When I tried to find specific information it became difficult. The ratings were not very elaborate. I would only recommend this book for people cruising for the food only.
