5.0 out of 5 stars HOLD UP PEOPLE, GOOD REVIEWS, BUT WRONG PRODUCT
All the reviews here seem to be dealing with the 2004 Austin City Limits DVD that was shot back in the days of Guitar Town. However, this product, according to the picture above, is of another show shot in 2000 (take a look at the artwork). I'm a fan of Steve and all that, but how all these reviews got tied in with a brand new product that hasn't been released yet, I...

2.0 out of 5 stars good but not great
I want to start by saying i am a big fan of Steve Earle. That being said i found this dvd to be mostly uninspired. Steve seems almost tired and struggles to reach his notes vocally for most of the performance. He just seems kind of burnt out or something. At one point in the show you actually see someone in the audience yawn really big & that is kind of telling of this...

I'm sure the performance will be great, most of his are, but I hate to see people get confused by early reviews, especially when they aren't even about the actual product that is being advertised.

4.0 out of 5 stars Steve Earle in 2000, June 18, 2008

This review is from: Steve Earle - Live From Austin, TX (DVD)
Tracks included on Steve Earle's live from Austin, TX in 2000 are as follows: 1. Transcendental Blues, 2. Everyone's In Love With You, 3. Another Town, 4. Taneytown, 5. Hard-Core Troubadour, 6. Someday, 7. Telephone Road, 8. The Devil's Right Hand, 9. More Than I Can Do, 10. I Can Wait, 11. Goodbye, 12. Steve's Last Ramble, 13. Copperhead Road, 14. The Unrepentant, and 15. Christmas In Washington. This 2000 concert presents a striking contrast from Steve Earl's performance in 1986 at the same venue during his "clean cut" days. Steve has grown tremendously over the years as both a singer and a song writer. Damn... Steve on mandolin on Copperhead Road is priceless. Love Copperhead Road! This is a must have DVD for Steve Earle fans, and if you happen to have his 1986 performance you will come close to having complete concert footage spanning most of his career. The sound quality and video are satisfactory.

GREAT CONCERT!!! THIS IS A VERY GOOD PERFORMANCE OF STEVE EARLE AND HIS BAND ON THIS CONCERT DVD. IT WAS FILMED ON THE AUSTIN CITY LIMITS SHOW ON NOVEMBER 12, 2000. IT CONSISTS OF 15 SONGS ALL VERY WELL PERFORMED. THIS CONCERT FEATURES SOME OF HIS SONGS FROM THE "TRANSCENDENTAL BLUES TOUR", ALONG WITH SOME OF HIS CLASSIC HITS.

STEVE EARLE IS A GRAMMY WINNING ARTIST!!!

STEVE EARLE IS SOMEWHAT BETWEEN SOUTHERN ROCK AND SOUTHERN COUNTRY AND SOUTHERN BLUES OR MAYBE JUST A COMBINATION OF THE THREE!!!

THE BAND CONSISTS OF STEVE EARLE ON GUITAR AND LEAD VOCALS, ERIC AMBEL ON GUITAR AND VOCALS, KELLEY LOONEY ON BASS AND VOCALS, AND WILL RIGBY ON DRUMS AND VOCALS.

ALL THE SONGS ARE GREAT, BUT I REALLY ENJOYED THE PERFORMANCE OF "COPPERHEAD ROAD".

THIS IS A VERY GOOD CONCERT DVD, SO IF YOU'RE INTO THE KINDA OF MUSIC DESCRIBED ABOVE, YOU SHOULD ENJOY THIS ONE, AND IN THAT CONTEXT, I DO RECOMMEND THIS ONE!!!

At one point in the show you actually see someone in the audience yawn really big & that is kind of telling of this performance. I was touched emotionally by "Goodbye" and from then on out the performance gathers some steam and is pretty good actually. It's just too bad it took Steve almost 3/4 of the way through the show to really start getting into it and making us feel something.
