Steve Madden, the company, was founded by Steve Madden, the man, in 1990 in Brooklyn, where he started out making trend-advancing shoes one pair at a time. It was not long after that the Steve Madden focus on "now-ness" earned rave reviews from young female fans mad for the funky, chic, and yet competitively priced footwear it produced. The company popularized the "dressy sneaker," and continues to man the forefront of trends.

The only thing I don't like about the boot is that the eyelets are "dress shoe" style, meaning they don't have grommets to ease the pull, which makes loosening and tightening the laces harder than it should be. That feature gives the shoe a more dress-up style, so they could be worn with slacks if you roll that way. But kind of annoying if you just want them to be easy on/off. Pretty minor either way.
Otherwise a perfect boot.
- Too narrow, not a comfortable fit
- Very difficult to get on without a shoe horn (or without completely loosening the laces down to the bottom)
- No loop in the back to pull boot on.
I gave this two stars because it's a pretty good looking shoe. But unless you like spending 10 minutes putting on your shoes each time (because you may not always have a shoe horn at the ready)... I would recommend not purchasing this shoe. I would have returned them... but I wound up putting them on to walk my dog out in the snow. And now it's unfortunately too late to return them... and just wound up wasting my money.
As others have mentioned, they do have a rubber sole, so that part does come across a little cheap, but from a distance no one would be able to tell. My wife says they are her favorite pair of shoes that I wear, so that's saying something!
These boots are definitely worth the price. If someone snatched these I would immediately go back online and purchase another pair!

Boot is a little narrow. The uppers and lowers are different material and wear differently, so it creates a contrast look. Not necessarily bad, but not what I was looking for.Published 3 months ago by Andrew M. Paxton

I really like these shoes. They look and fit great. The only issue I have with them is that they are very annoying to put on, as you have to really loosen them to do so.Published 6 months ago by Hawks2thesuperbowl
Surprisingly good quality for the price point. I'm the type of guy who buys dress shoes and wears them everyday until they're worn out. Read morePublished 6 months ago by Brian D.
