5.0 out of 5 stars It Works!
You put stuff in it....and the stuff stays there! And just in case you are afraid the stuff might come out, it has a lid...and that works too! You put it on, and it covers the can....very nice...very nice indeed!

3.0 out of 5 stars Steven Raichlen Ash Can Review
I wasn't using this as an ash can.. I'm using it as part of a magic trick. However.. Though the CAN part seems to be made well.. the lid is a different story.. it doesn't quite fit... and the handle on the lid came loose on one side almost immediately. Since I had to break out the pop rivet gun for the magic part of the "renovation"... i pop riveted the handle back...

5.0 out of 5 stars perfect size for dog trash, October 24, 2010

I bought this ash can to use for the doggie trash bags. The smell in the large utility can was too strong to tolerate until pick-up day. This way, the firm construction and tight lid keep Fido's refuse secure and the garage odor-free. Great product!

I think the company needs a better solution.

PS.. I bought 24 of these from Sears... and more than 25% had the same problem

A strong can but it is small. Hard to get an idea how big it is from the description.

Bought this can to store ashes from a woodstove. Works great - could be slightly heavier - but works just fine.

I bought this for my husband as he is constantly cleaning out the fireplace and disposing of old ashes. He loves it. It's sturdier than in looks in the photo.

I purchased this item for collection of ash from my wood stove. It serves the purpose and is much less expensive then the ash cans sold by wood stove accessories stores. My one complaint is that the lid handle is spot welded on and broke off. I reattached via bolts and nuts. It should of been riveted on in the same way as the side handles.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful little can., December 2, 2009

We use it to hold dog treats still in their plastic packaging. Tucks nicely under our sideboard. Should not be used for loose dog treats as zink from galvinization can make them sick if too much transfers to food, but it does exactly what we were hoping it would do. We had a plastic one for years whose lid cracked so we had to replace it. This was the best choice. When we had a wood stove we used a larger can than this to hold ashes so we did not have to dump it outside as often. That one we stored in the garage.

I ordered this can thinking it would hold a 13.9 bag of charcoal. It doesn't come close to the task.

I returned it because it is too small and the lid doesn't fit tight. I wanted a weather proof can to store charcoal in outside on the deck. I thought this would do the job and it won't. It's kind of a lightweight can and not what I had expected considering the name on it.

This can works okay for my pellet stove ashes, just wish it was slightly larger.
Also cannot pick it up by the lid handle as the lid is not that secure and will come off spilling all the ashes.
