Great for die hard Stevie fans only,
This review is from: Stevie Nicks: Rock's Mystical Lady, Revised Edition (Paperback)
If you are a long time fan of Stevie Nicks, or are just discovering her and trying to get your hands on anything you can about her, then go ahead and buy this book. If you could care less about how many photos you have of Ms. Nicks, then this book is a definite pass. The photos are great, but the actual publication of the book could have been better. Some of the illustrations and page set-ups are rather "cheesy" (for lack of a better word)...and in my opinion, if you are going to publish a book with such little text, you should do more research and make sure that text is correct, instead of reaching to find anything to support your claim. For example, this book is based on Stevie's mysticism, and believe me, EVERYTHING is done to bring this out in the book. For example, they have the words to "Gold Dust Woman" as "Hail shadow of a woman/Hail shadow of a dragon" when the words in reality are "Pale shadow of a woman/Pale shadow of a dragon"...then it goes on to explain how Stevie might have slipped here with bringing out spirits...C'mon now, we know better...Stevie has said herself that "Gold Dust Woman" is about the drug/cocaine addictions, not about raising some dead witch from the grave to help her cast her spells...Christine's "affair with mysticism" is also thrown in for good measure, and I KNOW we know better on this one...I say stick to the facts and people will find you more credible - even if it is a book just based on photos...

Don't even bother,
By Sagebrush (DETROIT, MI United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Stevie Nicks: Rock's Mystical Lady, Revised Edition (Paperback)
This book has less information than your average Stevie Nicks fan site. It is a waste of money. Very little information, just a lot of rambling about Stevie's mystical yearnings, most of which are assumed by the writer. Almost no biographical information. The book itself, and the photos, are poor quality, very inexpensively done. They put the worst photo of Stevie they could find on the cover. Go figure. The whole book yammers on about Stevie's mystical vision, in a sophomoric manner. I'd be embarrassed to say I was the author. As it is I'm embarrassed that I purchased it.

Nice collection for a Stevie fan.,

This book was good, I received it for Christmas..I wasn't expecting to focus so much on Stevie's mystical side although, as much as it did. THe photos are wonderful, but the info is a little off..Like the interpretation of the ending of GOLD DUST WOMAN..its "Pale shadow of a woman" not "hail shadow of a woman" that made Stevie sound like a witch, which she isn't, casting spells through her songs, which she doesn't! It was worth a read though, but just not enough core info. I like the book, but the photos are the highlight, there are some GOOD ones in there.

Disappointed,
By A Customer
This review is from: Stevie Nicks: Rock's Mystical Lady, Revised Edition (Paperback)
I received both Stevie books for christmas. Like all the other reviews say, the pictures ARE the best part of the book. Some facts are not straight. These books kind of upset me, but like any other fan , I had to have them. These books do not offer any information on Stevie, so if you want some good pics, get them. But look for information some where else.

Great photos, and that's about it,

I purchased this book as well as "Lady of the Stars" and the books are practically identical. The text is awful, the advertisements are everywhere, but the photos are wonderful...great for a Stevie Nicks fan to have. So I suppose that the book is worth having, but only for the photos.

while it wont be winning any literary awards the author makes up in decent photography and enthusiasm, its fun to flip through and reading random thoughts rather then straight through. so go ahead and get it, its a good value especially used

Misleading trickery sells big but produces little....,
By Thunder (New York) - See all my reviews

I was largely disappointed, expecting prehaps more biographical information in conjunction with the interesting photos...However i found that embarrassingly again i was thirsting for some real vision on the Nicks plight and history rather than the bubble gum machine, typical saddening results i reviewing with every turning of a page..Ha! Ya got me! But not my respect...

Inaccurate,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Stevie Nicks: Rock's Mystical Lady, Revised Edition (Paperback)
I found this book to be disappointing and inaccurate. The writer attempts to analyze the lyrics to the song Gold Dust Woman, but has the lyrics wrong. This made me question everything else printed in the book. True Nicks fans - don't waste your time.

Pretty interesting stuff,
This review is from: Stevie Nicks: Rock's Mystical Lady, Revised Edition (Paperback)
I thought the book was pretty good! Very nice photos. Brought back my ol' hippie days. good artistic work, and some nice artistic inspirations for me to draw upon. some parts I found kind of ...different from my way of thinking, as in the interp of the last half of "Gold Dust woman" as being, "Hail shadow of woman". Always thought it was "Pale Shadow of a woman" . but - Oh well. Only her hairdresser knows for sure.... I rather liked to see that Stevie might also be a student of "A Course in Miracles". May I shamelessly plug THAT book? Yours in good humour, Stace

I loved it!,

This review is from: Stevie Nicks: Rock's Mystical Lady, Revised Edition (Paperback)
Even though there may not be too much writing, a true Stevie fan would love this book! It has a lot of never before seen photos--and for a lot of fans that is wonderful! I loved the photos--every new photo I get of Stevie is a treasure.
