Walking through a "record" store years ago, I heard a kick-a$$ instrumental followed by an awesome blues tune. I just stood in the aisles and listened to the whole recording, then bought it and rushed home! One of his best, if not THE best. Sadly taken from us just as he was hitting his prime...<sigh>

A very listenable-to blues album indeed... a bouncy opening track (House is Rockin') followed by several prime cuts of blues - Tightrope, Crossfire, Leave my girl alone, and Wall of denial are my favourites, great guitar, flowing rhythm, and some exuberant flourishes.

This was Stevie's first album after getting out of detox and many of the songs portray his inner struggle with life and with himself. But aside from all that, the album rocks out. This was the only other album (aside from The Sky is Cryin') that I burned the tape out from listening to it too much. Every song on the album is well done; not only does he sing with soul and play with energy, but his lyrics are well written and thought provoking. A must have for anyone.
