About the Author

Roger Priddy left school at 16 with just one qualification—in art. He went to Berkshire College of Art and Design and trained as an illustrator.  His first job in children’s books was working with the publisher Peter Usborne, at Usborne Publishing, and then he worked with Peter Kindersley at Dorling Kindersley, where he spent 16 years. Priddy became Creative Director of DK’s Children’s Division and was Managing Director of the children’s mass market publisher Funfax when it was acquired by DK.

In 2000, he created Priddy Books with John Sargent at St Martin’s Press to create innovative and imaginative titles for children, from first books for babies through early reference titles for older children. Since then, over 30 million copies of Roger's 200 plus books have sold worldwide, with five of his books—My Big Animal, My Big Truck, Happy Baby Words, Happy Baby Colors and Puppy and Friends—each selling over one million copies. He is also the author of Big Board First 100 Words; Big Board Books Colors, ABC, Numbers; and Bright Baby Noisy Monsters. His creativity has been recognized with numerous industry awards. Priddy lives in London with his wife Zena and their four children.

More About the Author

Roger Priddy is the creator of over two hundred best selling books for young children including Wipe Clean ABC, First 100 Words, and Fuzzy Bee.

When he was at school he couldn't decide between being a patisserie chef or going to art college. On the advice of his father he chose art college and trained as an illustrator before becoming a designer at Usborne Publishing.

Roger's love for children's early learning has led him to create some of the most successful children's non-fiction books, first at Dorling Kindersley (My First Word Book, Incredible Cross Sections and My First Cook Book) before he set up Priddy Books with St. Martins Press in New York where several of his books have sold over a million copies each including My Big Animal Book and Happy Baby Words.

In total he has sold over 65 million books worldwide and his books have been translated into over 30 languages.

He says "It is always rewarding to see a child enjoying and learning something from one of our books, especially the babies when you think it could be the first book they have ever seen.

I am very lucky to have a career where you get to think up fun ways to teach a kid how to write their letters and learn their first words whilst finding out about Dinosaurs at the same time!"

Roger lives with his wife Zena in London and Cork, Ireland (when it's not raining, which isn't very often!) They have four children Sam, Rose, Alannah and Gabriel (and a dog called Wallace) who have given him most of his best ideas for his books. He still loves baking bread and cakes!

I bought this for my 5-year-old son as an activity for a long flight. As soon as the book arrived I knew it wouldn't keep his attention for long. The sticker pages aren't perforated for tearing out of the book (which would be extremely handy). Instead, to get a sticker for page 5, for example, he had to flip to page 11, peel off the sticker, and then go back to page 5. It was too much back and forth for him and he lost interest after 2 stickers. Plus, the binding is very tight and the book doesn't stay open easily. If the book stayed open easily and the sticker pages were perforated for tearing out of the book, it would be a great sticker book.

My daughter is 2 and a half and very resistant to learning her letters from mommy. I have to be very creative to get her to do things without realizing she is actually learning something. This sticker book hit the mark completely! We did it for half an hour today and she really enjoyed herself!

I wish I had found this earlier- I've been banging my head against a wall for quite awhile with this one.

As to the other review- our stickers stuck on great with no problems, so I don't know if maybe that one was defective or something.

Love the concept, so did my 3 year old. BUT... the stickers don't stick very well! That doesn't fly with a 3 year old!

I just bought this book and was surprised how well my 2 year old took to it. He was immediately able to place the stickers over the right shapes and spent so much time looking at all the new things, learning new names. I actually "laminated" the sticker pages for him with packaging tape because he loves reusable stickers and now he gets to take the stickers on and off as he pleases. It was also his first coloring book - another surprise - he's learning to draw in the lines and play with different colors.

My only problem with the book is that there are pictures of different things on the cover, like the rubber dinosaur and robot, which are not included inside the book, and he keeps on saying "I want this one!"

Overall, excellent book for toddlers.

This seemed like a great book and a great idea, but had some problems and odd stickers/examples and a lot of it did not make sense. The stickers are in back of the book. It required to much flipping back and forth so I cut the sticker pages out. The stickers were hard to get out, even for adults. The book is intended to help kids learn letters and identify them. But my 3 year old does not know what a "Toucan" is. One example for the letter "F" was "Friends". The sticker had a picture of several people on it. It wasn't clear to her, and it wasn't clear to me. I never would have known if it hadn't said "Friends " on it, but she can't read yet."Frog" would have been better. The letter "U" had a kid under a table. "U" for "Under". The whole thing lost me at "Quiche". Really? Quiche? She is 3. "Queen" would have been a better choice. So in the end she had fun sticking the stickers by matching the shapes. Unless your child is familiar with words like Toucan, Quiche, and yacht, etc. This won't help. She thought they were bird, pizza, and boat. Which was understandable, but they did not match up with the letters. It was okay for having fun sticking stickers - once we were able to get them off - but that's about it. Not a lot of help with the alphabet.

This book is compacted Down to 3 letters on a page. The stickers are all at the back. Not my favorite ABC book.

My daughter loves stickers. She's learning her ABC's as she's doing her favorite activity. Great book.
