Bought this as a Christmas gift for my then 3 year old son. He LOVES this video and honestly, so do I. As well as my 10 year old daughter! The movie is very honest and heartfelt and has tons of hockey in it. My son watches it often and loves to pretend to be a player on their teams. A Must-Have for hockey families.

This is a great heartfelt movie. My 10 year old wanted more actual hockey action, but the story is actually not that much about playing hockey or the game itself. (Watch Mighty Ducks for those kinds of laughs and plot.) I can see why it won awards since it has some great messages in it about patriotism, war, and parents working on their marriage issues (and how that effects the kids). The movie covers (I think) two Pee Wee age (12-13 yrs old) ice hockey teams and the language was probably age-appropriate for them, but sometimes a bit more than I would typically like my 10 yr old to hear ("kick your ass", etc). Good movie!

A very entertaining family-friendly hockey movie based off of a true story. Also, sends a great message of doing what's right, perseverance, and tolerance.

My 8 year old son loved the movie. It is a great story. It is a little intense because of the struggles of the war. I recommend you watch it with your kids so you can talk about the war. You may need to explain some of the different opinions. He wishes there was more actual game footage. Very positive story for kids.

Purchased this as a Christmas gift for my five-year-old daughter. She watched it with her dad and since the movie is set during the U.S.-Iraq-Afghan situation at first my husband was very concerned about the content. By the end of the movie, my husband was saying it was one of the best childrens-sports movies for its message.

This movie is base on a true story of a pee-wee hockey team for the USA back in 2003 that went to Canada to play a game and got mistreated by most of the adults because the Iraqu war had just started and Canada didn’t like the USA for dragging them into it. (guilt by asosiation). The refs were failing to give the US any calls on penalties by the second half of the game it was 8-0 Canada and even the canadian coach was calling the refs on their bad sportsmanship. US team walk out before the game was over which was called forfit. One of the kids on the Canadian team knew it was unfair what happened the team so he work to get the team back to have a fare rematch. And he did. Won’t ruin the ending; just know good wins out.
