We replaced another tankless with the Stiebel Eltron Tempra 20 plus and it does everything we expected and more. The old one, from a now bankrupt manufacturer, was a NIGHTMARE. We can now forget that it a tankless system and our guests don't even know it is until we tell them...and it never runs out of hot water...ever.

I am totally in love with this. A month ago our water heater broke. With 10 people in our house and a baby on the way we thought we needed a BIG tank. Then we started looking at these on demand systems. WOW we love it! My husband and his handyman friend installed this in one day. If you are not so handy you would need an electrictian or if your state requires this ours does not. Ok point I love I can put all the little kids in a shower one after another so over 1 hr of constant hot. Both my husband , and i have taken a shower while the dishwasher is going with no problem. For the price of a new water tank I would highly reccommend this. I know we are saving on our electric as well just wont have exact figures until next month. ever want a LOng hot shower after the kids are in bed only to find out someone drained the tank? we no longer have this problem !

In 2005 I had a SETS tankless ,now the Hubble R220-3, installed following hurricane damage. I purchased the most powerful electric unit I could find, which resulted in my having to upgrade the electrical system by 50 amps. Because I purchased the unit online over a year before the electrician was able to install it (Florida '04 hurricane rebuild nightmare), I was stuck without a warranty. From day one, I had problems ranging from flickering lights to freezing then scalding water. You could run one shower or other device at a time, but a second supply would shut the unit off. Granted, for filling our jacuzzi tub, it was a miracle and when you wanted a long shower and did not mind continually tweaking the flow it was great. Also, there was a noticeable decrease in our electric bill. However, in all other respects, it was a constant headache. In July (Thank heavens!) of 2008, the unit failed completely. My wife and I debated whether to return to a conventional water heater, but we had built shelves in the place of the old heater and we did love the savings and convenience, when there was convenience.

I started researching companies and decided to purchase the 20 plus. I dropped down in power just in case the tech at the now defunct SETS was correct in suggesting that the inferior FPL power supply could not handle such a magnificently powerful units as ours. I now have a tweak of regret for that decision. To sum up the performance of the 20 plus: perfect for that size unit. Because I went with a smaller unit, flow is noticeably diminished when more than two sources are on at once. However, I have had both showers running simultaneously with hot water to spare (with lower pressure). Three and a half years now and not a hint of trouble.

I have had this water heater installed for over a month now and am very happy the the consistent even temperature of the water (our setting is 113 degrees). We are 2 persons and two bath home. We upgraded the circuit box with (2) 50 amp circuit breakers and used 6 gauge wire to handle the electrical current better (with electrician recommendation). So far the Water heater has worked wonderfully! My partner says she enjoys her baths much more because of the consistant water temperture it produces, and she does not have to worry about temperature flucuation.

I have not had the unit installed long enough to comment on yearly energy savings in electric bills, nor can I comment on water flow rate during the winter months living in North Carolina.

I can say that I am glad that I installed this Tempra 20 Water Heater.

This is an amazing water heater! The installation was incredibly easy, the water heats extremely fast, and the best thing of all...my power bill has decreased! Wish I'd purchased it before the old one cracked and floodedmy house

I love this tankless hot water heater. I haven't had a moments problem with it. The Stiebel Eltron Tempra keeps a consistent temperature and I have not ran out of hot water even when taking a long hot shower. I had another brand of tankless hot water heater that did not keep a consistent temperature it was either freezing cold or scolding hot. The Stiebel Eltron Tempra 20 Plus Electric cost more than many of the other brands but it is well worth the money. The Stiebel Eltron Tempra keeps consistent temperature and I have not ran out of hot water even when taking a long hot shower. I highly recommended this product.

Great product, works well as a whole house (2 bathroom) water heater. Make certain you have two (2) 50 amp electric service for the unit to operate. I live in central Texas and the outside water temp to the house is never less than 50 degrees. I expect to save .50 cents per day on electricity so it will take approx 4 years to recover my investment.
