Color Name: Purple Tang
I was extremely excited to see that Stila had an eyeliner in a gorgeous purple color - which is my color of choice when it comes to eyeliner. Believe me, I've tried many - from L'Oreal to Maybelline to Clinique to a cheap Walgreen's brand. With one exception (L'Oreal), the colors are not true to the pencil.

This is where I need to give Stila props: the color is excellent! The purple is exactly the shade of purple I was hoping for, with an added bonus: a tad bit of glittery goodness. Not too much - just enough to stand out.

I am extremely pleased with the color, but not the stick, which is defective. After three days of use, the pencil was worn down so I twisted to the stick in an attempt to get more eyeliner out of it. Nothing came out. I twisted some more. And yet some more. And still some more - no luck. The pencil would not drill down from the stick.

I had this same problem with the Moray color as well. This is completely unacceptable, especially since the cost of this cosmetic item is so high. I will not order this product again because of the defective pencils. However, if you'd like to get three days worth of eye popping color, order it - you won't be disappointed with the color of the product!

I have really oily skin. Without a primer, light office makeup has melted by the afternoon. The smudge stick stays on. I don't need to use a primer, unless I anticipate being in the office late or if I am going out dancing/will be sweating. With a primer, it stays on through showering unless I use eye makeup remover. I have noticed that if I use a deep eye moisturizer the night before, it lingers on my eyelids the next morning and the smudge stick will be melted by noon. I live in California! The melting is not due to humidity.

The product must have some type of wax in it. By noon, my contact lenses are all blurry and rinsing them off doesn't help. I have to come home and soak them to get the wax off from the eye liner.

This eyeliner is probably the best I've used ever, and I've tried many. It's a medium brown with some sparkle, so it would be appropriate for day or night. It's also very long lasting, I work long hours and it's lasted my entire shift and then some, about 16.5 hours without smearing or smudging! The only down side is the price, but to me it's worth it!

I actually had to send back and get refunded for the first stila smudge stick in stingray that I purchased because it was defective. It's supposed to move the eyeliner up when you twist it but mine wouldn't twist up at all so I sent it back.So when I got my new one in the mail I tried it and there were no problems like with the previous one.The color is super dark and goes on easily. However it does NOT last very long for me.When I put it on the waterline, within an hour it slips down and looks pretty messy.I had seen really great reviews on this product and that it was long lasting but it just didn't do that for me.Other than that,I do like it and use it occasionally but it is not the best eyeliner I have ever used that's for sure.

I've been using this product for 3 years. Discovered it in a Birchbox gift and haven't used anything else since. It's pricey, but lasts longer than other eye liners. It really is smudgeproof and stays on all day. The colors are great and I don't have to worry about it after I apply it. Moray and Bluefish are my favorites.

While I'm drawn to Sephora like a magnet, I really struggle to spend $20 on an eyeliner when there are cheaper options that are totally workable. But then, I got one of these babies in a subscription box (in the bronze, lionfish color) and I was sucked right in to a $20 eyeliner world. And so, I bought a second in this purple tang color.

I have very dark brown eyes, almost black and this purple tang makes them pop. It's a deep purple, like a black purple...rather than a bright violet. It's not an electric 80s color at all, neither is it glittery.

I have to say, this is my favorite eyeliner and I've tried a few. You unscrew rather than sharpen, so there's no funky shavings headed for your cornea. The color is noticeable and interesting, but not garish. It's got good staying power. And the tip allows for a fine or not-so-fine line based on your preference. Smoky eyes, cat eyes, even raccoon eyes are all within your power.

I'm in the rain and generally inclement weather daily, this liner keeps me looking beautiful and smudge free every day.

I liked the eye liner, the color was great but the pencil wouldn't advance so I bought another one and had the same problem. If they fix the problem I would try it again.

I don't like the shiny flakes in eyeliner. Prefer a more matte eyeliner. The color was good. Application was fine.
