Sometime around 50 you realize you've said goodbye to your youth and hello to world of bodyshapers, random hair growth and senior specials - whether you want them or not. You can spiral into a funk or you can laugh. Stilettos No More helps you laugh, and laugh and laugh!

Diana Estill takes a humorous look at life from the top of the hill looking down. The age hill, that is. She's not afraid to talk about those "things" that start happening when you get to a certain age. Even better, not only can she laugh at them, but she makes the rest of us laugh too. Especially when we're recognizing ourselves at every turn! Who knew ¾ sleeves had a practical purpose?

Some humor collections have peaks and valleys. This book is a steady stream; each essay flowing into the next, each just as funny or funnier than the one before it. Extremely well-crafted.

A snappy read, Stilettos No More is a collection of essays that makes you smile, and at the same time be comforted that you're not alone in your quest for the nearest bathroom. You'll definitely want to share with family and friends. Highly recommended.

"Stiletto's No More", by Diana Estill, is a funny, down to earth commentary on the realities of aging. It's not easy facing the physical changes that occur, without permission I might add, to our bodies when middle age and menopause invade, but Estill faces these occurrences with a wicked wit that any woman will identify with (if not openly then secretly) and embrace. From underwear, to shoes, to the utterly ridiculous and hilarious protocols of local government and the pomp and circumstance involved in the smallest of decisions Estill's commentary will produce a wry, knowing smile and, in some instances an inappropriate guffaw of which I no longer feel obligated to apologize.

Diana Estill, author of several humorous books, has written an engaging read perfect for the beach, an airplane or a quiet afternoon. My only wish was that Estill spent more time elaborating, ergo, I wish there was more to read as I was finished too soon.

After reading Diana Estill's paperbacks - Driving on the Wrong Side of the Road and Totally Skewed View To Life I knew I had to buy Stilettos No More. The initial problem was I didn't have a Kindle, but that didn't stop me. Oh no, I had to have this book. So after dropping several hints to my husband, he bought the book on his Kindle and left it on my pillow for evening reading. After moments of laughter he had to come up and see what I was doing. He was surprised to see me with Kindle in hand and tears running down my face. Diana's books never disappoint! How she takes everyday dramas and turns them into a comedy reflects her real talent as a writer. You can read the book in one sitting or you can savor the chapters, laughing and enjoying your time with Didi one page at a time. While I prefer my paperbacks as I don't have to share, I enjoyed this as much as the other two. Keep writing - I will be back for more!

I just couldn't stop reading Diana's books and this was my last one! I need Diana to write another book because I am now going through withdrawal! Stilettos No More kept my in tears from laughing so much and there were times when I felt like she was writing about me turning 50! I am telling you, walk don't run and buy this book! It will make you smile, laugh and realize it's ok to be hitting that 50 mark!

Not this author. She greets it with tongue-in-cheek humor the borders on total truth. Why DID we ruin our toes and feet to prance around in pointy toed shoes with killer high heels?
I find her humor appealing on every level. I see my aging self in so many of the books scenarios.
Her humor gives me hope that in aging not all is lost if you can still laugh at life.

As an over 45 reader I related to so much of what this book said. I laughed and read parts of it out loud to my husband. So many of the things in this book I read/laughed/and said ...I've done that or been there! I laughed thru the whole book.

I ran across this book while trying to find something to read that was funny. I honestly only opened this one randomly. It had come in from the author asking for a review and was pretty far down in my pile. I am SO glad that this one caught my eye on that day. I read it on my Kindle and used that "share" button so much, my Facebook friends were both intrigued and really annoyed with me. But there were so many funny stories and quips in this book that it kept me giggling madly.

This book was about getting older (I think I busted a stitch with the "shapewear" essay) and about various family funnies that happen. There's nothing here that's Earth shattering; it's a cute, funny, and well written collection of essays about being a woman over the age of forty. I'm not quite there yet myself, but I found myself identifying with so many of the first essays.

I think it did lose a little steam towards the last few essays, but they were still funny and heartwarming. Overall, this is a very well thought-out, portrayed and written collection. I'd recommend this for woman over the age of 33 or so. I suspect those in their late 40s would enjoy it even more.
