Songs That Need to Be on a "Regular" Readily Available Release!, April 15, 2008
This review is from: Still Becoming Apart EP (Audio CD)
It is a shame this Smashing Pumpkins CD-EP was only available as a limited edition promotional release. "Still Becoming... ...Apart" Virgin 7243 8 49021 2 4JK contains five really interesting songs. Four of the five songs are nearly impossible to find elsewhere. Yes, I obtained one cheaply when it was first available. If the Smashing Pumpkins ever release another rarities and b-sides CD like "Pisces Iscariot" or "Judas O (Greatest Hits Disk 2)", it should include the four unique songs on "Still Becoming...
...Apart."
1. Hope -- A nice fusion-like instrumental. Seems to only be available on this rare promo! Too bad, I like.
2. Blissed and Gone -- Sounds to me like a slow tempo piano driven "Adore" outtake.
3. Apathy's Last Kiss -- A quirky, almost Beatlesque song. Probably a "Siamese Dream" outtake.
4. Mayonaise (Acoustic) -- A great acoustic treatment of a "Siamese Dream" period song.
5. Eye -- A dark sounding syn-rock song from the "Lost Highway" Movie soundtrack. It is also available on the Smashing Pumpkins "Greatest Hits: Rotten Apples" and the "Lost Highway" soundtrack compilation CDs.
