I am so very disappointed that this album isn't what I was looking for, I have only listened to it one time, and I may not ever listen to it again... I was looking for the 1971 recording of Lynn Andersons "Ding A Ling the Christmas Bell" on a CD, this was what was suggested. Not only do I not like the remake but I am so disappointed that I may either try to return it or I may sell it to someone else, but rest assured that I will let the buyer know it isn't the original songs as we knew them back then.

I have been looking for 9 years for a copy of the song DING A LING THE CHRISTMAS BELL. Finally got it. Grew up listening to that song around Christmas.

sweet mellow country christmas,

"This wistful collection of songs eschews the slickness of most holiday albums. Producer Dave Lindsey has rounded up more than a dozen of Nashville's old elite among them, Gene Watson , Crystal Gayle, and the late Porter Wagoner- for a sentimental songfest. The album opens with Lorrie Morgan, beautifully melancholy "Merry Christmas to Me",but grows lighthearted with Tanya Tucker's exuberant "Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow!"
- Gene Stout PS: I agree and would add two other standouts are: Porter Wagoner's "Happy Birthday Jesus" and Crystal Gayle's "One Little Star".
