This is probably the best free book I've gotten from Amazon. It's well-written and the plot twists are great. The characters are a little flat - or do I mean undeveloped? - but I was so caught up in the plot I didn't really notice and, frankly, it wouldn't have been the same book with more emphasis on character development. I liked it very much.

A good read that should have been shortened up some,

This is a long book without sufficient plot to sustain its length. I could have chopped 50-75 pages out of this book without changing the book one bit. It is also loaded with characters and it takes a while to get them all straight in your mind.Having voiced those minor criticisms, it is a very good read with a really different story line. Plus, it was offered free for the Kindle as an introduction to Mr. Flynn's writing. He has written better books but I don't think anyone will be disappointed if this is their first read of his.

This is my first experience with Joseph Flynn and I would have to say that it was satisfying and that I will add him to my "To Read" list. I did find the plot overly complex and the list of characters a bit too long, but I managed to keep going and enjoyed the various twists and machinations. The ending may have been a little underwhelming and simplistic but overall, a worthwhile read. I'm not sure if the protagonist will show up in Mr. Flynn's other books but it might be interesting to follow his career and character development.

Justice for the Rejected,

The business of college is cut-throat. From the politics of admission to the benign dictatorship of the college president, Shepherdton College is muscling its way into the big leagues - a boutique school with the prestige of an Ivy.But somewhere along the way Shepherdton's exclusivity and obsession with only admitting the right sort of student angered the wrong people. And their next step was foreshadowed by the appearance of hundreds of envelopes bearing the phrase, "Still coming." The idea for this story was the most unique I have ever read. I have to say, the very idea of an army of rejected college applicants threatening to converge on the campus that refused them in the first place is terrifying. High school over-achievers do not suffer failure, it isn't hard to imagine them snapping and demanding justice. There are many twists to the story, and not everyone is what they first seem. In fact, only the college president seems to present the same face throughout the book. This is in perfect keeping with her character. The only real quibble I have with it is the way the peeping tom story line wrapped up - it was too neat and rather anticlimactic. Since that wasn't the major plotline in the book, it wasn't an irritation - more like a wish for more. And really, that is what makes someone a good author - when they make you wish for more. I got this book for free, but it was definitely something I would have paid for.

I enjoyed this book, and found it plausible in today's technologically skilled world. A small group of techno-talented high school students rejected by the big colleges (Harvard, Yale, Princeton Stanford) find out why the colleges did not accept the brightest among them, and decide to retaliate, using their skills to create nerve-wracking disturbances in this college town. The characters are believable, the setting is easy to visualize, the behaviors of the adults is predictably true to form, and the climax is well worth the wait.Still Coming

This is a well written, complex, suspenseful novel with many likeable characters, a few flawed but not evil, and a few bad guys. I couldn't help wondering how much of the technology actually exists. I read it in two days, partly by staying up way too late one night I just had to finish it. Now I'm going to lend it to my daughter!

I read this over the weekend and found myself hurrying up with my weekend chores so I could get back to reading. Weekdays are too busy for reading, and I didn't want to wait until next weekend to finish! I agree with the reviewer who mentioned it could've been shorter yet still remained a great story. I did some skimming, but slowed down for the parts that interested me. It was a Kindle freebie, and I don't reget the time I spent reading it.

This could have been a really good book, the storyline is original and I thought I would be in for a fun read. I was oh so wrong. First why is the majority of players are all geniuses, the side story are all extremely stupid, and for people with such high IQ they make stupid decisions and acts like a bunch of idiots. I was over this book 50% in, 2 pages to describe the scenery in a park, apparently someone did not get a good editor. And all the ramblings on about the college process and how difficult it is. Holly takes a home pregnancy test and immediately starts thinking about the kid going to college. Unfortunately I am one of those people who has to finish a book once started, but I think doing that lowered my IQ a good 5 points. Oh and lets not forget Angella with her tiny bladder and hatred for men for no apparent reason. This book sucked, which is sad because it could have been so good.

This was another great read from Joseph Flynn! Takes an unusual look at the college admission process, which anyone with college-age children would appreciate. What if all those kids rejected by a university decide they are coming anyway...?
