5.0 out of 5 stars Quit Arguing
I can't believe all the complaining about this record. "It's too metal" or "it's too punk"; blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. This album is a great retrospective of the early songs of a great band. 'Nuff said. The fact that they've been re-recorded should mean nothing. To all the anti-big label people: good production does not mean the band is a sellout. I'd love to...

I'd love to hear some of my favorite Misfit or Blag Flag albums/songs on a big budget. Oh no, there it goes . . . I can hear it already "the energy isn't there" . . . Energy isn't lost with good sound... This album has an awesome sound to it and I would never classify it as selling out. It has many of the great ST songs on it. If you want to pick up the originals, go for it; they are awesome. But this is an incredible start to some incredible albums.

On the other hand, some will complain about all this punk rock stuff . . . I'll tell ya what, just because the song doesn't have a 3 minute guitar solo doesn't mean it's not metal. Some of these songs rock like no metal (or punk song) has ever done.

Final note: Who cares what the "label" the music has attained. If you like it, like it for what you feel about it, not what others say you should feel.

Rock on. This CD does.

4.0 out of 5 stars Come On People!, August 5, 2000

This C.D. to me is very good and well put together. There are gonna be a majority of people who have all the main albums, but how S.T. lines up the songs on this album is great. There's not a single song I don't dig and it is '80's punk at it's best. Rocky George smokes on the guitar Mike Muir's voice is great! Don't listen to these other people, take it from me because I've been into Suicidal Tendencies for years and years. Buy it!

Those two actually sound better here than in their original form, but only because the sound on JTA is atrocious. The tracks from the first album are immaculately rendered here, but along with the rough edges much of the passion that made Suicidal Tendencies such a great album is gone on Still Cyco.

I originally bought this when it was first released. I got rid of it three months later.

5.0 out of 5 stars 5 Star Material,5 Star Execution,5 Stars for balls to do it, October 19, 2004
This review is from: Still Cyco After All These Years (Audio CD)
I bought Suicidal Tendencies self titled debut when it first came out and way blown away by the band's intensity and musicianship. When I first heard that Cyco Miko and the boys were planning on re-recording this classic, I was skeptical (to say the least). I'm what you would call a metal/punk purist. However, Still Cyco After all These Years upholds the mighty tradition of Suicidal Tendencies and even strengthens their legacy as punk metal pioneers. I applaude Mike Muir for having the foresight and the balls to re-record these classics...and I do mean CLASSICS. Just look at the track listings: Institutionalized, I Shot the Devil, Subliminal, Two-Sided Politics, I Saw Your Mommy...the list goes on and on. This album just takes a tighter, faster Suicidal unit and does these songs even faster and better. For production values alone, this version completely shines over their classic debut. Overall, Still Cyco is a strong buy for any metal/punk fan but an absolute must-own for ST fans. Highly Recommended.

1.0 out of 5 stars THIS HAS THE WRONG TRACKS ON IT FOR MP3 ALBUM, March 17, 2010
THIS HAS THE WRONG TRACKS ON IT -MP3 downloads only

be aware that track ten, Go Skate! (Possessed To Skate '97), is not the right one. It's "Possessed" instead.
So I'm out one song from this great album. It's a fun redo of the classic track with the heavy Trujillo bassline throwing it's weight around on it.
So far, I have no idea how this can get remedied, but be aware that this is not the correct version of the album. Buy the CD I guess.
Otherwise five stars for it.

OK, great, let's take some of the finest early works of the thrash/punk crossover metal movement and rework them into happy-happy-joy-joy sing-along tunes. Listen to the new version of "I Saw Your Mommy" and try not to lose your lunch at the backup vocals (yes, you read that right). This was the most ... attempt at a cash-grab I've ever encountered. No wonder Rocky quit! AVOID THIS AT ALL COST and get the ORIGINAL first album and be amazed. Or buy this pile of dung and be repulsed at the ... attempt to feed off a fanship that needs a hero at this point. Word to Mike Muir: get back in touch with the people that put you where you are now.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is REAL S-T, November 30, 2000

It's obvious from reading most of these reviews that the reviewers have no idea that this is a updated remake of the original Suicidal Tendencies full-length debut LP (Get it? The album title is "Still Cyco After All These Years). Mike Muir is trying to show that he can still rock after putting out a string of wimpy crossover-almost glam metal albums. These songs are what started it all for Suicidal Tendencies. Mike Muir is the only original member of Suicidal Tendencies that is still in the band. These are classic S-T songs remade with the current band members. The original title of the album was Suicidal Tendencies. If you like the new crap by Suicidal Tendencies, you probably won't like this CD. But if you like blistering aggressive punk or hardcore like Bad Religion, Pennywise, Dag Nasty or anything by TSOL that was issued prior to Revenge - they turned to crap too in the mid-80's. This CD is an integral part of any punk collection that includes such classic bands as Black Flag, Circle Jerks, and Youth Brigade.

Well lets just say that it became kinda hard to listen to this cd because of Mike's new voice. It didnt really cut it for this one. He really screwed up songs like I Saw Your Mommy and others. I think they did this because they didnt have that much access to the first album. I would only buy it if you're a huge ST fan
